Easy access to Manhattan & NYC by train. 1 hr by car to the wineries & Hamptons (without $$$) The space Our Net-Zero Energy home is an environmentalist's delight. Featured on several media outlets including NBC, we offer the privacy of the entire second floor with 3 rooms and 1 bathroom. Perfect for a couple or a family of 4. Guests have the privacy of the entire upstairs floor with three rooms that we call the British Room, the Indian Room and the Child room (see photos), as fitting to their decor! The British room is ideal for couples / parents as it comes with a door that can be closed, the Indian room has a beaded curtain & has a sofa that can be used as a sitting area or pulled out to sleep, the child room has a twin bed & its decor is fit for a child, even though it will also sleep an adult who is young at heart! The bathroom comes with a large walk-in shower for two people, heated floor, heated towel rack and a European style bidet toilet. Every single feature, furniture, accessory has been sourced sustainably, and made in USA or hand-crafted in India. The linens and towels are organic and every effort has been put to make the home environmentally friendly. Guest access Guests have access to the entire upstairs floor with the three rooms and the bathroom. The hosts live on the first floor & appreciate their own privacy & space as much as their guests. The apartment upstairs has been sound proofed well, so the noises from the two floors do not carry into each other, giving both the hosts and the guests their own true space. The guests are welcome to make occasional use of the kitchen to make breakfast if they like & use the kitchen island/chairs for their breakfast. A selection of tea/ coffee/ drinks would be provided by the hosts. The guests are also welcome to spend time in the garden, grape-vine covered gazebo & the above-ground pool (if open, please check with hosts)! Please note that as good neighbors, we allow some of our neighbors & their children to use the pool (if open), so you may meet others in the community if you decide to use it! Other things to note We have a Net-Zero Energy home. This means that we generate all our energy needs ourselves. We have four solar systems, Geo thermal heating, quadruple glazed windows, heavy insulation in walls, cork floor, non VOC paints and you name it! Our house has been featured in various local print, radio and TV news outlets and also showcased by NBC during their green week. We participate in the national Solar Tour Day Event as well as various other sustainable events to help learn & educate people about how to live an eco-conscious & sustainable life.
