We have 3 (three) rooms that can comfortably accommodate up to 6 (six) people, but upon request, we can host a group of up to 10 (ten) people. The Mountain Lodge is located inside Schitzo Hills Forest Resort, which is nestled in 10 hectares of unspoiled teak plantations & conservation forest, bordering the Mt. Halimun and Salak national park with an exquisite view to the bay. The space The Mountain Lodge is home to 3 (three) guestrooms, a living room, and verandahs. All are tastefully furnished, and even provide such comforts as additional bathroom, additional toilet, complimentary coffee, tea, towel. Besides the lodge, Schitzo Hills Forest Resort also has the Sun & Moon Suites available. These suites are rented out separately but you can combine both the suites + the lodge and achieve a maximum occupancy of 16 pax. Our resort's location is strategically positioned right before you enter into Pelabuhan Ratu, which means we're the closest to Jakarta while still having easy and quick access to the region's best beaches, rivers, waterfalls, and restaurants, as well as the UNESCO Geopark Ciletuh the road to which is filled with waterfall spots and beautiful views. The property was transformed in 2017 to become a traveler home base and was previously private property. Schitzo Hills Forest Resort currently consists of one large villa (The Mountain Lodge) with three bedrooms, The Sun & Moon Suites, the Travelers Cabin, a kitchen and alongside the lodge is a large open-air lounge which faces the infinity pool and viewing deck with spectacular views of the bay. Between the deck suites and the Mountain Lodge is a beautiful open-air lounge where most guests enjoy their meals, good books, conversations, and simply relaxing. In front of the lounge is an infinity pool and behind it are the tennis courts. Up above the Mountain Lodge is a 12 Hectare teak plantation and conservation forest that is accessible on foot, mountain bike, or horseback riding with small roads and paths that are relatively easy to navigate. Within a short but steep walk, you'll find a small cleared area with magnificent views of the virgin rainforest and Pelabuhan Ratu's bay. The name of the eco-resort - Schitzo Hills - follows the brand of the investor, designer, and conceptor who also owns the Schitzo clothing line, and is a well-known musician. His brand reflects a philosophy of transformation, creativity, and the belief that everyone can achieve their dreams. Lastly but most importantly, our long term vision is to make Schitzo Hills Forest Resort and the surrounding area into an eco-village. We've converted the private villa into a lodge and changed the lighting to energy-efficient warm LED bulbs, replaced the old ACs with the most energy-efficient ACs on the market, doubled the salaries of the local team, and started composting our organic waste. Over the coming months, we will start to plant organic fruits and vegetables (we already have some organic mango, durian, and nangka trees), install solar-powered kits for our new rooms with DC lighting, fans, and charging stations, and work more intensively with the local community to help craft a medium to long term vision for tourism in Pelabuhan Ratu. The management company that operates Schitzo Hills Forest Resort also manages Pulau Macan, which has been pioneering eco-tourism in Pulau Seribu over the last 10 years. With Schitzo Hills Forest Resort and the future eco-village, we will be exploring and implementing natural building techniques, organic farming, developing local livelihoods, solar energy, permaculture principles, furniture making, and sustainable timber plantations, among others. Guest access Enjoy an infinity pool complete with our lounge, viewing deck, tennis court and if you're feeling adventurous you can trek in the surrounding hills and mountains. For a small fee, we can provide you with horseback or mountain bike explorations of the area. In-house facilities include use of tennis courts, tennis rackets, and tennis balls, use of swimming pool and swimming goggles. Other things to note We are located about 5 minutes away from the town of Pelabuhan Ratu and about 20 minutes away from the popular surf spot, Cimaja. Getting Here: Many people from Jakarta are unwilling to head to Pelabuhan Ratu for fear of traffic. There are a couple of ways to ensure that your journey to Pelabuhan Ratu is pleasant and won't take more than 2-4 hours. As of December 2018, the new toll road has opened up and ensures that traveling time from Jakarta is within the 2.5-3.5 hour range. To achieve this time, you must depart at the right hour from Jakarta. Just plug 'Schitzo Hills' into Google Maps, and you'll find the route. The drive is pleasant and quite an adventurous journey in itself. Please note that the final leg of the journey involves a road that has steep inclines and sharp turns, so make sure your brakes work and your drive is a good one. Train: In our view, one of the best ways to get here, for now, is by getting dropped off at the Bogor Train Station (Stasiun Bogor Paledang), and taking the train to Cibadak. From most places in Jakarta, Bogor is around 1 - 1.5 hrs away. The train ride is another 1.5 hrs and is very pleasant and comfortable. For the executive class, the tickets cost Rp. 70,000 per person, and you can purchase them easily on tiket dot com and other travel sites. From the Cibadak station, we can arrange for a pick up by car and the remaining journey is a little more than an hours drive through traffic-free windy roads that traverse through lush green forest and crude palm oil plantations. This makes for a very pleasant journey which is never longer than 4 hours or so. Option 2: If you drive from Jakarta at the right time, you can make it here in about 3 - 4 hours. This generally means a night-time departure when the traffic is clearer. Once you're booked in, we can advise you on the best routes and times to depart, and nice places to stop for a break or a meal.
