Outer Space Scottish Highland cabin
Description
Come and stay at this well restored hippy wooden hut right next to the waterside and surrounded by mossy rocks and sheep. The hut is part of Loch Voil hostel and sleeps up to three people and has a bathroom with a toilet, shower and sink. It offers a fully equipped kitchen and a wood burning stove. The space This wooden cabin is ideal for people who search for a little getaway in natural surroundings near the loch. The hut is located in a beautiful mossy area and the little brook runs right next to your cabin which makes the surroundings even more magic. Your can watch the sheep outside the window while warming up on the fire. The hut has a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, oven, fridge, electric kettle and basic equipment like pans/saucepans, a variety of plates, glasses, cutlery and cutting boards. A big table offers space to sit and eat. The living room/sleeping area offers plenty of opportunities to sit next to the fire. Ideal for reading while it is raining. In the living/sleeping area you will find one double bed for two people and one single bed. The bathroom has all basic facilities, i.e. a shower and sink with hot water and a toilet. We also offer you a radiator heater for warming the cabin. The gas is free. The electricity works on a £1 coin meter. 1£ lasts for approximately 24hrs. You can collect some wood in a bag at the farm for £5 per sack or bring/collect your own. As the hut is located on a farm and is made from wood, it is likely that there are mice. But as long as you store your food in boxes where the mice cannot reach it (especially at night!), it is no problem. The 4-mile-track to the cabin is quite bumpy but if you drive carefully, it is accessible with a small car, i.e. that is you do not need a 4x4. Unfortunately, this cabin is not suitable for disabled/elderly people as it is quite difficult to access with a wheelchair or crutches. Guest access Outer Space is a well signed fifty yard walk from the farm car-park where you can leave your car. Only bring what you can carry – wheelie suitcases do not work on grass. Wellington boots are available for loan and you can find them in the porch of the Hostel. Guests should bring their own bath towels and all food. Also, if you are coming in the summer, bring anti-midge cream or spray as, when the weather conditions are right for them, the midges will be out. Other things to note Guests should bring their own bath towels and all food. Also, if you are coming in the summer, bring anti-midge cream or spray as, when the weather conditions are right for them, the midges will be out. This is a working sheep farm so no dogs are allowed and we ask you to shut closed gates and respect hay fields ie do not walk across a field when you could equally well walk round the edge. The hut itself does NOT have Wi-Fi but we are happy to give the Wi-Fi password for the Hostel or Mother&Grandma Teat (which are other cabins that we rent). You can find a sitting area outside where you can use the Wi-Fi if needed.
