Alongside 'Great Kettle Barn', our cosy cottage in the beautiful village of Great Asby, is the perfect getaway for a romantic break in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Located within the Eden Valley, we are perfectly placed for trips to the Yorkshire Dales and the The space Great Kettle Barn cottage is deceptively spacious and will suit your needs as a rural retreat away from the stresses of life. Ideal for both walkers and cyclists, we have secure storage for your equipment. Should it ever rain, we have a large drying area for your gear. There are outstanding views from the cottage of the hills and surrounding countryside. We have regular visits from the red squirrels we are lucky to have in this area, so hold on to your nuts! Bird watchers won't be disappointed either, so bring your binoculars. This is an owner-occupied home, although our portion of the house and the entrance is completely separate from the guest quarters. As we are on-site, we are available to assist you with whatever you might need during your stay. Guest access As well as a sitting room with 32" ‘Smart’ tv (Netflix and Prime for subscription holders), there is a double bedroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers. We have fantastic local produce in the local shops so why don’t you make yourself a gourmet meal on the range cooker in the large fully equipped kitchen? After a full day of hiking you can take a soak in the roll top bath with plenty of fluffy towels. A spacious sun room with a washing machine and tumble dryer is also for your use (this is also an ideal place for your dogs to sleep). We are fortunate to have super fast broadband with 'fibre to the home', so you can still keep in touch with the outside world if you need to. There is a patio with plenty of space for a barbecue, which we can provide, with a secure area for your dog ensuring peace of mind when you need to let them out. A ‘welcome tray' containing some basics, such as milk & butter, along with some treats is also provided. Other things to note OUR COTTAGE IS A STRICT ‘NO SMOKING’ ZONE. Adults only, no children including babies. Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2) but please don't allow them in the bedroom. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS VERY LITTLE, IF ANY MOBILE SIGNAL IN THE VILLAGE. Wi-Fi is available but not guaranteed. I can’t be responsible for outages. The cottage shares a wall and lockable interior doors with the main part of the building so some ‘movement’ noises may be heard. Nearest shop is Appleby (5miles). There is no shop in the village.
