Stay in your private 3BR, 2BA section of our lakefront home. Paddle from the dock and unwind in the hot tub or sauna. You’re moments from Willy Street restaurants and right on the bike path. Start mornings with coffee on the private balcony, spend afternoons on the water or biking the city, and end the day grilling or roasting marshmallows by the fire. Inside, enjoy a full kitchen, living spaces, parking, and a peaceful retreat. (Paddleboards and pontoon to rent available in warmer months.) The space We are located in the heart of Madison, yet when you're by the lake, it feels like a peaceful retreat. We are: *10 to 15 minute walk to the Monona Terrace, Capitol, and entrance of State Street *2 miles to UW Madison *Less than 3 miles to the Alliant Energy Center *Less than 3 miles to Camp Randall *On the bike path near two bike rental options *A one-minute walk to the bus line *In a beautiful, safe neighborhood full of historic homes, lake views, and funky cafés, restaurants, and bars Bedrooms: The main floor bedroom has a queen bed and its own private bathroom. On the upper floor, there are two bedrooms. The first is the master, which has amazing lake views, a queen bed, and two sofa beds. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen bed with a single trundle bed underneath. There's a full bathroom between these two rooms. You can also use the living room sofa as a bed, and we have additional mattresses available if you'd like to use them on top of the sofa beds. Private amenities: As part of your booking, you will have access to a private grill and covered private balcony overlooking the lake. You have two dedicated parking spaces and additional free street parking (note: weekday daytime street parking is limited to two hours). The parking spots are a bit tight if you have a larger vehicle, so just keep that in mind. Shared amenities (with owners): Outdoor 7 foot hot tub, electric barrel sauna, paddle boards, and campfire space with wood provided. For an additional fee, we also rent out our 11 passenger pontoon by the half or full day Friday through Sunday mid May through mid October. Please note that we (Julia, Kristopher, and our 8-year-old Fritz) live in the walkout basement portion of the home, with a separate private entrance. You may see us occasionally heading to the dock or tending the garden, but when you're here, we want you to fully enjoy the yard and outdoor amenities whether it's the hot tub, sauna, firepit, or quiet moments on the dock. Guest access Guests have private access to the upper portion of the home, including the 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living areas, private balcony, and grill. Two dedicated parking spaces are included. Guests also have shared access to the outdoor amenities, including the dock and lake access, hot tub, sauna, paddleboards, and firepit. The owners live in the walkout basement with a separate entrance. All indoor spaces are fully private to guests. Other things to note Per City of Madison licensing rules, we can host up to seven adults. Additional children are welcome beyond that number. Two dedicated parking spaces are included, with additional free street parking available. Please note that weekday daytime street parking is limited to two hours, and the on-site parking spaces may feel tight for larger vehicles. We live on site in a separate walkout basement apartment with a private entrance. Guests have full privacy in their living spaces and priority use of the yard and outdoor amenities. You may occasionally see us walking to the dock or tending the garden. Lake access and outdoor amenities are weather dependent and seasonal. Paddleboards and the pontoon (to rent) are available during warmer months. This is a lakefront home in a central residential neighborhood. While it feels like a retreat and is set back from the street, you may hear typical city or neighborhood sounds at times.
