It was built by the Catholic Kings to celebrate their son Juan's wedding. The main focus is located on the statue of the Christ of the Favors, installed in 1640. It tells the story that between the years 1679 and 1682, the entire province of Granada was whipped by the Bubonic plague. However El Realejo was the least affected neighborhood and people thought it was due to the fact that they were praying before this statue. He grew a devotion so great that even Archbishop Fray Bernardo de los Ríos Guzmán stated, that to any person who prayed to the Christ of the Favors an Lord's Prayer and an Ave Maria, I would give him 40 days of forgiveness. Today, every Friday Good multitude of people congregate around for 3pm in point to pray and ask for three wishes. At 160 meters (2 minutes walk) we find the Church of Santo Domingo, where the members of the Grenadian nobility were buried. The museum Casa de los Tiros 80 meters from the apartments (1 minute walk) was built between 1530 and 1540 to the similarity of the Granada palaces of the time, it gets its name from the canyons that peek among its battlements. It was part of the wall of the Alfareros neighborhood, hence its military fortress aspect The Church of San Cecilio 500 meters (7 minutes walk) The Casa del Padre Suarez (Next to the Museo Casa de los Tiros) The Convent of the Descalzas at 250 meters (3 minutes walk) or the Church of San Matías at 240 meters (3 minutes walking) will be places where undoubtedly our guests can enjoy its charms Other things to note According to the records of the Municipal Historical Archive, the block was built in 1925 In 2016, due to its condition, a long restoration project began, which ended in 2019, giving rise to the wonderful building that stands out and attracts attention when walking around the area. Listed as a historic building, the main objective throughout the restoration work was to maintain as many original elements as possible. In our first encounter with the building's façade, we observed a Tuscan column of pink marble from Lanjarón located on the first floor. An architectural element for which this building has always been recognized. Once inside, in the hallway we see that it has been completely preserved in its original state, the entrance door, tiles, marble stairs... The only modification/improvement was the installation of an elevator. The stairs and landings maintain the original marble, and in the different apartments, we can appreciate the charm of the original hydraulic floors of the time. Tiles that were carefully recovered one by one, taken to be restored, and put back in place, making the drawings that we can appreciate today. Our intention from the beginning was to continue, through the furniture and decoration, with the idea of providing that personal touch. The kind of touch that only comes from things that are unique and handmade. We wanted it to be endearing, to convey to our guests the enthusiasm invested in this project that came from nothing. So we got to work! We made furniture, textiles, decoration... In these images you can see how in a few months everything took shape until it became the apartments that they are today. We will be happy to welcome you and for you to be part of the history of this building Registration Details Andalucia - Regional registration number A/GR/00388 Spain - National registration number ESFCTU000018017000051429000000000000000000A/GR/003887
