Hani Kastania house is hidden inside an ancient chestnut forest yet just a short walk to the village local life, this home is a perfect base for exploring gorges, mountains, and Crete’s famous beaches. You will be look forward to returning to this house, cook together in the wood-fired oven, enjoy coffee under the trees, gather around the fire, and share meaningful moments beneath the stars. Designed for connection, it offers a rare way to experience the island beyond typical tourist stays. The space Hani Kastania attracts people who love a natural way of life and desire to experience the authentic side of wild, mountainous Crete. The guests will enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, the cool summer climate, the rebalancing energy of trees . It is created to host groups of max 10 people, groups of friends and families. It is situated in an ideal spot for trekking in nature and crossing gorges. Bikers, motorcyclists, hikers and any group with a common purpose will opt for this place. The house is situated inside a plot of 4.500 square meters. The surrounding outdoor space has a 60 square meter wooden platform, a pergola with a cob built wood oven, a barbeque, a table and seats. The fairy-tale like guest house is built from natural materials - stone, earth, wood- energy autonomous with solar panels, a large fireplace and a wooden attic. Inside, on the 100 square meter ground floor there is a large, fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a fire place, a bedroom and a bathroom. In the attic (another100 square meters) there are two bedrooms, a bathroom and two balconies. All ecologically built, with efficiency and in harmony with the surrounding landscape. Guest access The village of Sembronas where Hani Kastania belongs to is 35 kilometers away from the town of Chania. It has direct access to the traditional cafes and tavernas of the village which provide local food and homemade tastes. 35 klms away to the south there is Sougia beach with amazing blue waters, caves and local tavernas that serve fresh fish. From Hani Kastania you could visit the stunning south beaches of Paleochora and Elafonisi. If you love trekking, this will be an ideal base for you to explore the most interesting gorges and trekking paths like the Omalos plateau with the famous Samaria gorge, the Agia Irini Gorge (only 8 klm away) and some recently opened, unexplored paths of rare beauty and vegetation like the Vassiliki Strata and more. The visitors can be everywhere in the land of 4.500 sq.m and to use all the house. Private Parking available. Other things to note The house receives its electricity through a solar system yet if the sun is not enough the guests need to put on the generator according to easy directions.
