The building and all of our apartments in this Grade Two Historical building have been thoughtfully renovated by us. All have been finished to a high level, have keyless access, free WiFi, video intercom, central heating, air conditioning and have both curtains and net curtains for your privacy. Each apartment is self contained. You will have sole use of your apartment but you will also have free access to the communal facilities in the basement. The bedroom has two double beds measuring 160x200 cm. This apartment is great for a solo traveller or a couple. But The sitting room has be converted into a second bedroom by removing the sofa and putting in a double bed instead. You will no longer have the sitting room but sometimes the extra bedroom is more important if you are looking to share with someone, have guests or prefer the choice of 2 bedrooms. The bed can always be moved to sit along the wall to make the room more like a sitting room. Please Note: Istanbul is not eligible for many resident permit applications. This neighbourhood, Bedrettin Mahallesi, was accepted for residency applications as there are less than 20% of foreigners registered here however this can change. Please check the official websites to see if you qualify to apply and to check that this neighbourhood is still accepted for applications. Goc Idaresi has been rejecting residence applications from people sharing in a multi national households. If you are going to share and apply for residency, please be aware of that. The kitchen is well stocked with a kitchen table, glass and cookware provided. There is a tall fridge, combination grill/microwave, kettle and electric stove. There is no oven but the combination microwave is a handy substitute. This is a relatively quiet street, especially at night. During the day you may hear some building works, the hustle and bustle of people going about their business, and you will hear the call to prayer as you would in most of Istanbul. If you are interested about the history of this building, you may notice the difference between this building and some of our neighbours wooden houses for example. This is because Istanbul and in particular this area of the city was very multicultural. Muslims' buildings were often wooden. Greeks, Armenian's and other communities preferred stone and brick. This was a Greek merchant building. There are steel protrusions on the side and front of the building, these were probably for winches to move goods through the large windows. Guest access You will have sole and private use of this beautiful apartment and you will be able to use of all the facilities in the shared basement area. You don't need any keys. There is an entry code for the front door and for your apartment. Please don't share your codes with anyone who is not booked to stay. The apartment is on the 1st floor. We do not always have the pleasure of meeting our guests on arrival, so please be prepared to take your luggage to the apartment. Please take care on the staircase with your belongings, it is narrow in parts. Thank you. You will also have use of the communal basement area which is free for all of our guests to use and enjoy. Here you will find; - Laundry Machines and Ironing Facilities - Work / Study room - Storage area - Yoga / Exercise Space Please find a water dispenser in the basement. This is for all of our guests convenience. If you would like to store your suitcases there is an area in the shared basement where you may do so. Please let us know if you wish to leave an item there for more than a week. Other things to note Please note that we have CCTV cameras at the front entrance and at the rear of the building. They do not see within any apartments so your privacy is maintained whilst providing security.
