Walk to secluded Lobster Beach; near Killcare, MacMasters Beach & beside Bouddi National Park: plenty of bushwalks from the door. You’ll love the studio for bush & bay setting, QUIET, birds & other wildlife, walk to Palm Beach ferry, estuary or ocean beaches, short drive to surf beaches & boating areas, sense of community, stylish simple building (2016): switch off completely. My studio (separate from the house) suits couples & solo adventurers , adults only. 2 night min. public hol. w/es The space If you want peace, privacy, disconnection other than with nature, local walks and swimming opportunities (ocean and estuary beaches), with plenty of wildlife including an adjacent Brush Turkey mound, nocturnal Swamp Wallabies, birds, this is the spot. There are a dozen steps up the slope from the shared, sloping carpark. The studio is completely separate from the house. Ensuite has cupboards above and below the small basin, with toiletries etc. Public holiday periods have a 2 night minimum booking, whilst offering 1 night for most of the year otherwise. Guest access Check-out time is generous - please respect it to avoid inconveniencing following guests or others. The new studio is yours alone: one level open plan with a short entry hallway, a kitchenette and ensuite along one side, then a square open space with water and bush views. There are a bar frig, car frig/freezer, electric frypan, microwave, kettle, coffee plunger and a toaster. Have BYO breakfast at home, then free yourself from complicated cooking by preparing simple meals (frypan and microwave), a salad, having meals out, or home-delivered meal in the studio (see Guest Info in studio). There's a wall-mounted heating/cooling aircon unit and a pedestal fan, although the cooling nor-easter comes straight in off the bay. The driveway and parking area have a strong slope, with a dozen steps up to the studio. The topography does not suit people with mobility problems. Please do not invite extra visitors: the studio is just for you (1 or 2 adults, however you book it). Other things to note STRA PID-STRA-6503 Christmas, New Year's Eve, Easter, June and October long weekends have 2 night minimum. Ask about mid-week discounts so you can really enjoy the coastal national park. If you want to arrive early or leave late, please ask. That flexibility (for a fee) is only available in off-season and is subject to adjacent booked nights. When using the steep shared driveway (entry between 23 and 27 although satnav may take you incorrectly to 21 or elsewhere), please drive slowly as there are blind spots, kids, dogs, neighbours, other cars at the street. There are a pedestal fan and a wall-mounted air conditioning unit/heater but being a coastal location you may not need them. The building was completed in late 2016 with little use of chemicals. It has a timber and tile floor, with lots of natural ventilation from bushland and the bay. People assume that telecomms will be as good as in a city - they're not: limited mobile reception, no wifi, no TV reception (topography and trees) - their improvement is a community project of some years' duration! With a National Park right next to a steep site, where all domestic animals and cyclists are prohibited, the property is not suitable for children, pets, visitors, people with mobility difficulties or smokers. If you want to visit Sydney or Newcastle for the day or an evening, that is feasible, especially by car.
