Our incredible homestead nestled in the woods is the perfect place to make memories. Make it a getaway in the Gorge. Step outside for a walk in the woods or along the river where peace and beauty will surround you. Trails and rivers are all in the backyard! Take an authentic Finnish wood fired sauna with hot water and cold plunge (add as an extra) or gaze at the grand stone fireplace after watching the salmon spawning on the river. Possibilities for local recreation in the gorge also abound. The space Our family homestead was remodeled using lumber from our land and the details and warmth in this space are more than welcoming. The kitchen and dining room allow even large groups to be accommodated easily. Plenty of living spaces invite you around the house. The dorm style sleeping arrangements are fun and functional, especially for families. Many breweries and wineries are located within a short drive. Hiking trails are plenty in this area of the Gorge and Mt.Hood is less than an hour away. You will also have access to our great trails and river, shared with campers we allow on the property. Guest access You will have access to everything in the house, including a wonderful sauna (made from our own lumber). You also have access to trails that lead to a river, beach, and hiking trails among the trees. These trails are also shared with a few private camp sites we have spread out through the property (seasonally). Access to the wood fired sauna with hot water and cold plunge available at an extra cost. Ask host if interested! Other things to note The house is attached to an apartment with a long term tenant living there. He is a very friendly, outdoors loving, mellow guy. He is also able to help answer questions about the property if you happen to see him. We also rent a small sleeping cottage (‘The Pumphouse’) that is within 100 yards of the main house. It is small and accommodates only 2-3 guests at a time that do not share facilities with the main house. This can also be rented out by you if you would like more sleeping space. The sleeping is dorm style in a cozy sleeping loft, a bedroom with a double and single built-in bed and a small ‘sleeping closet’ best suited for children or a smaller adult. There is also a tiny house just through a short trail that can be rented if you would like additional space. It’s perfect for a small family or a couple wanting more privacy (it has 2 double beds) but also wanting to be close to the main house.
