This is a cozy yet spacious cottage at the dead end of a short unpaved lane. Quiet and private, plenty of wildlife, it sits in the woods above the Greenbrier River and trail, which is excellent biking and hiking with many swimming holes to take a dip. We have a few neighbors but you won’t see or hear them. Only 15 minutes from Historic Lewisburg, one of WV's best tourist destinations which offers restaurants, bars, shops, antiques, and the arts. Also 13 miles from The Greenbrier Resort. This place is special because it is comfortable yet a tad rustic. There are plenty of windows for light and a cathedral ceiling in the living room, hardwood floors throughout the house and ceiling fans in every room. There is no central air conditioning, but there are window AC units in the bedrooms. The nights cool off beautifully here in the mountains so there is usually no need for AC. It is dark and quiet at night..perfect for star gazing. You are bound to hear a whippoorwill or hoot owl while sitting by the outdoor fire pit or on the back porch. You will have access to the whole place and are welcome to use whatever is in the fridge and kitchen cabinets. I do make sure there is coffee and tea available in case you arrive before you can make it to the store. I am available by phone or text anytime. Please make contact through the Airbnb website. I stay in the studio apartment in the back of the detached garage on the property so am available if you need anything. Walk or drive to the beautiful Greenbrier river and river trail. There are neighbors but you won’t see or hear them! You will see plenty of wildlife, trees, wild flowers and the dark night sky. You will hear the small creek that runs along the side of the house. There is a big back porch that overlooks the back yard and a fire pit with plenty of firewood in the woodshed. There is no public transportation. The last few miles to the cottage are very rural. The well water is perfect to drink. No need to bring bottled water.
