However, the restaurant and cafe scene is so diverse around Vaasankatu that you can hardly take advantage of the kitchen. The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated in 2018, so everything is in top shape. A great place to spend the Helsinki weekend for families and couples alike. Both are in walking distance. 7th floor you will find a public terrace with nice views. Apartment window looks to courtyard, not to the street, which keeps the restaurant noise out. Window looks to north which helps in summertime not to heat up apartment too much, which is common problem in Finnish apartments (rarely AC available, because long winters). We wanted to be ecological with interiors and most of the furniture and kitchenware are recycled, second hand or restored by ourselves. Bed liners and towels of course are fresh and new. Soaps and shampoos are with refilled packings and no disposable packings available. Building is from 1941 and you are still able to use the original lift. Note: some may find rustic wooden floors noisy despite the looks. If you drive a car, there is a parking space on the street with no cost during the nights and weekends.
