Description

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ ◆ Limited to one group per day/private rental - Experience a rejuvenating stay in a long-established inn and storehouse ◆ ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ ■ Location, history, features ■ In the port town of "Mitsuhama" in Matsuyama/Dogo, a 105-year-old long-established restaurant inn (formerly the Kawacho Ryokan) surrounded by 4 white-walled storehouses and 4 gardens built in the Edo period - white plastered earth walls, natural bamboo walls of Kannonji Temple, etc., have been renovated little by little and regenerated (in the process of regeneration). It is an old private house that initially opened as an accommodation facility for almost 100% inbound. Renovation work is being carried out on the semi-open-air bath inside the warehouse and the water area. ■ Healing moss garden ■ There are three moss gardens: the front garden, the middle garden, and the back garden, and well water flows everywhere, flowing between the hand basin, the watering hole, the deer repellent, the stepping stones, and the pot pond, where koi, medaka, tanago, and crayfish live, and a biotope space visited by wild birds. ■ Check-in lounge (cafe/bar space), souvenir corner ■ You can drink authentic cocktails on the first floor of the annex (main building). There is a souvenir corner with interior goods/accessories/natural stones/amulets imported from Bali and other countries. The space ■ space ■ This is a second-floor room in a long-established inn located in the annex (main building). A Japanese-style bedroom with a sliding door with a plentiful shadow of a paulownia crest, a lattice, an ocher wall, and a glass sliding door. From the continuous glass windows and the quaint veranda with a handrail (16 m), you can see two tsubo gardens, the flow of water, and koi. At night, you are surrounded by fantastic lamps, and in the morning, natural sunlight pours in, and the combination of feng shui, comfort, and a dreamy atmosphere can be experienced. ■ Kuran's open-air bath■ The sound of water echoes with a "varied flow" that is rich in rustic charm. The outdoor bath in the storehouse is new and nostalgic. The storehouse has been undergoing DIY renovations since 2024. Please enjoy the moss garden from the perspective of a living thing while soaking in the tub, listening to the sound of the water flowing from the bamboo waterfall and waterfall stone. ■ Healing space ■ To emphasize the culture of the good old days, handmade lamps, interiors, art paintings, and natural wood furniture from Bali, as well as houseplants and moss balls, were directly imported from overseas and accentuated. Almost all of the lighting in the building is remote controlled with spotlights and Asian lamps. ■ What you get ■ ① Welcome drink service with delicious mandarin juice produced in Ehime Prefecture and delivered directly from the farm. ② Famous Matsuyama confectionery/sweets/mandarin orange gift service (subject to change depending on the season). ③ There is a gift service such as miscellaneous goods for customers who cooperate with saving electricity in the space on the ground floor. Guest access ■ Guest access ■ It's okay to enter the private space and do anything other than pushing. Please try not to step on the moss garden as much as possible. ■ Check in ■ Proceed straight down the long corridor from the front entrance of the inn, and you will find the check-in lounge on the ground floor of the annex (main building), separated by a corridor with a railing, where you can enjoy a welcome drink. Other things to note Children 12 years old and younger are not allowed to stay. If we confirm that you will be accompanied by a child after booking, we may cancel your reservation. There is a private space in the annex near the entrance hallway, and there is always someone available for more than 48 hours. Please note that we do not hand over the key. This is a guest house that has acquired authorization from the Hotel and Ryokan Management Law (as a simple accommodation). Please be sure to contact us if you are going to check in after the scheduled time. Curfew is 23:30. There is no toilet on the second floor of the room. The stairs to the second floor are old-fashioned and a little steep. There is no kitchen or washing machine in the room, so you can't cook your own meals. Basically, no entry is allowed except for guests staying. Currently, the semi open-air bath, toilets, shower rooms, the second floor of the storehouse, and the moss garden are also during the DIY renovation period. It will take a few years to complete the construction, so we appreciate your understanding. Of course, DIY renovations are being done little by little, but there are no places that cannot be used. It's ok.There is no problem except for the second floor of the warehouse.
