Located in the heart of the Illinois countryside in Charleston, our home is situated halfway between O'Brien Field (EIU) and the historic downtown square. This gorgeous designer's home and owner's suite was built in 1968 and offers a truly unique getaway. Our spacious home includes a 2-story stone wall, oversized windows, spiral staircase, game hall, billiard room, 100% cedar walk-in closet, sunken tub/shower in master and decorative antique cast iron fireplace. 0.7 miles to O'Brien Field / Eastern Illinois University 0.7 miles to downtown Charleston / "The Square" Walk to restaurants, shopping, entertainment Self-check-in details will be sent to guests one day prior to the check-in date/time. Access is through a private entrance and check-in/out is contactless. Office is available M-F, 9am-5pm. After hours emergency line is given to all guests. Our home is tucked back into a quiet nook in the heart of Charleston. Although it is convenient to all parts of town, it feels peaceful enough to be a country home. Covid-19 pandemic notes: - Our home is thoroughly cleaned and surfaces are sanitized between guests. - For the health and safety of our guests, guests are not allowed to rent the home on the day before/after another group has been in the home. - Access to the home is completely contactless, the entrance is private and is only used for this home. - The large outdoor patio at our home is completely private and is for the use of our Airbnb only. - Charleston is a small town with many outdoor activities possible. Fox Ridge State Park, Douglas-Hart Nature Center and Lake Charleston are all beautiful areas to enjoy the outdoors and keep a safe distance from others. Our town/home offers a wonderful escape from the daily grind and from the stress of the current global crisis. This secluded and remote rural town is just a few hours drive from Chicago, Indianapolis and St. Louis. With all amenities needed for a few days away, Charleston offers both convenience and the countryside in one package. Walk straight down Division Street, which dead-ends at O'Brien field, 0.7 miles away. With our central location, nothing in Charleston is more than a few minutes driving distance. Please note that this retro designers space was built in 1968 and is in a state of continual restoration to maintain the integrity of the original structure and design. We appreciate your understanding that not all features are accessible at the moment.
