Welcome to Haven in the Trees! I am grateful to share my little piece of joy with you and yours. You will be staying in a lovely warm comfortable studio complete with a wee fridge, microwave and all you need to enjoy a light meal. You can relax outside on a private deck absorbing the sounds and sights of nature or you can take a five minute walk into the quaint village of Twain Harte where you can enjoy an espresso, many delicious restaurants and unique shops. Come see for yourself:) You will park on the street, meander around the garden, under the arch and down the stairs to enter into Haven in the Trees. There is a queen bed and a double futon for your sleeping arrangements. ****If you are a party of 2 and will need the futon made up as the 2nd bed please let us know ahead of time**** You have a private entrance, private bathroom and private deck. Great for a couple, friends or a small family. We strive to be pet friendly. If you plan to bring a pet please let us know. See pet section and fees below. They will need to be included in your booking. When traveling in the winter be prepared for icey, snowy conditions at all times. Check the forecast during your stay. Always carry chains. Be prepared to put them on if needed. The plow doesn’t always make it up our road. You may have to shovel your car out. We lose power sometimes during heavy snow. We have a generator that we can turn on during the day. It may be turned off at night. Stairs may be snowy or icy at times. We will do our best to support you during your stay but know that traveling in the mountains in the winter can be challenging. Be prepared for the adventure! We have stairs! We ask that you are comfortable descending and climbing stairs with no railing before booking with us. We do not have an air conditioner. We have a fan. During hot summer months we recommend opening the windows and slider(leave the screen closed) at night to let in the cool air. Then close everything including the blinds and shades in the morning for the heat of the day. This will help keep the room cool. If you are sensitive to heat we are not the place for you. What is that noise?... The toilet and shower are on a pump system. Just a heads up, it makes a louder then normal sound when flushing. I live on the property. You may hear and see me from time to time. The space is attached to the main cabin. But it has a private entrance, private bathroom and a private deck. You might see me coming and going from the main house, feel free to give me a wave. Unless you approach me, you will have a contactless stay. If you are traveling with children please do not let them play in the stairwell within the room. This insures the safety and privacy of everyone. There is a curtain that blocks the stairs. The door at the top is always locked. You are welcome to take walks anywhere around the neighborhood. Close by is a ditch system (open water system that supplies household water in Tuolumne County) with miles of trails through the woods. The best way to communicate is through the Airbnb messenger. I live in the main house, unless you approach me I will give you your space. Feel free to say hi if you see me working in the garden! My neighborhood is friendly, quiet, beautiful, near town but feels far away. Depending on traffic and road work, it will take about this much time to get to these places from Haven in the Trees. If you have any questions about your destination feel free to ask and I can offer any local updates or information… *3min to downtown Twain Harte. *30min to Pinecrest Lake *35min to Dodge Ridge *25min to Columbia State Park *1hr to Big Trees State Park *1hr 35min to the gates of Yosemite, and 2hr from the valley floor Walking into Twain Harte takes five minutes or less. Walking is truly part of the experience of being in Twain Harte. To go skiing, heading to Columbia State Park, visiting Yosemite or other wonderful local destinations you will need a car. ****We are pet friendly. Let us know ahead of time if you plan to bring your pet with you for there is an extra pet fee collected for your furry friend. The fee is $25 per pet with a maximum of two pets. We ask that you clean up after your pet (even in the woods). Never leave your pet alone unless in a kennel that you provide. Pets are not allowed on the bed or futon. Please report any damages or stains caused by your pet*****
