Newly renovated High-Performance home with the most epic views of The Hudson River, Palisade Cliffs & the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson. Very tranquil. You will love being so close to the train and the Old Croton Aqueduct trail. The views from every room are stunning at all hours in all seasons. Hastings-on-Hudson has parks, great food and walkability. For such a modern home it feels really warm & cozy. The space Our home is unique in so many ways. Foremost, the views. Not many homes have such open views of the Mighty Hudson and also the Palisade Cliffs. You have to be here to understand how relaxing it is to have a water view from every room in every season. We feel as if we are one with nature. Hawks & eagles fly by, tugboats push barges, kayaks dot the river in fine weather...and the light! Sunrise lights up the cliffs and the sunsets over the cliffs offer up all the crazy colors nature has to show us. Even as we feel we are high up overseeing the village and river we are so close to civilization. A 4-minute downhill walk gets you to the village/train station/supermarket. Views and location are only the beginning of what makes this house so special. It is fair to say we are energy and tech nerds. Our house has the most consistent temperature and amazing air quality. No expense has been spared to create a low-impact, high-performance house. We are heated & cooled with top of the line heat pumps and if you have the slightest interest we will show you the Energy Recovery Ventilation system. If this means nothing to you, no problem. All you need to know is that all the products and finishes in the house are low VOC and ALL the air is exchanged for filtered fresh air every 3 hours...without losing much heat/air conditioning. That means if it's a heavy pollen day you will never know it. Those sunsets we keep talking about could be difficult to enjoy in summer because all that west sun could heat up a place. But not here! Our quad-paned windows keep that heat at bay so you can enjoy those river views in every season. As for tech, you will have fun testing out the smart lights and finding the exact color temperature for your mood. Even though this house is modern in style and definitely modern in functionality, everyone says it is still quite cozy. With three separate living areas indoors and 3 separate outdoor spaces, you can always find a quiet place for a read or a heart to heart chat. You can prepare meals in the open kitchen and enjoy them at the large dining table or choose from 3 outdoor spaces: the west deck, the west patio (with charcoal BBQ) & the north terrace. There are 2 parking spaces under a modest carport with more parking right in front on a quiet dead-end street. Bikes are available to take out on the trail. Long staying guests can use the washing machine & dryer. There is very strong wifi (FiOS 400mbps & mesh system so it stays strong) & you get great connectivity in every room and out on the terraces & patio. The screening room has 65” QLED Smart TV & Apple TV and you may Chrome cast from your device. Smart home includes security features outside and smart lights that adjust color temp with the time of day. Tech nerds will have fun toying with smart lights and getting the color temp to match their mood. There is a third common room we call the loft that gets great southern light. There is a powder room on the main floor, popular for its bidet seat. During your stay I'll usually be here upon your arrival but if I am not you will have your own unique code to enter the house. I will certainly see you during your visit if you plan to share the kitchen. Even if you do not see me at home I am usually not far away and I will respond quickly to any issue/question you have Other things to note We make up the queen bed with heirloom-quality linen sheets but some folks don't love real linen. If you prefer percale sheets just let us know, easy switch.
