At The Loerie- Twin Room with En-Suite
Description
2 Single Beds En-Suite bathroom - shower, toilet and basin Towels Provided Complementary Toiletries Safe Hairdrier Wi-Fi The space “At the Loerie” was built in 1883, one of the first buildings of purpose to be built in a young, developing town. The building methods of 1883 have resulted in the house having an interesting, rustic “farmhouse character”. Guests are invited to experience a taste of life in the Knysna of “yesteryear”. Knysna has since grown and developed and this unique guesthouse is one of a kind! Many of the original features of the house tell the story of the many lives this house has lived. The house is charming, homely and oozes character. Each room has its own individuality and is decorated uniquely. The configuration of each bathroom is also unique and the charming exposed copper plumbing pipes are in keeping with a bygone era. We offer a common lounge area with a TV. Our tea and coffee station is situated in this communal area where guests can help themselves to abundant tea and quality, freshly ground, filter coffee. There is a shared kitchen where our guests can prepare a light meal and make use of a fridge. Guests will be spoilt for choice when deciding on where to eat out, as Knysna has a vast range of restaurants from which to choose! There are several restaurants within walking distance from “At the Loerie”. Two large veranda's offer extra seating and outdoor sofas. Guests are welcome to make use of the tables and chairs on the verandas. Knysna's history is deeply rooted in the Timber Industry. We share our yard with an emporium of second hand and restored furniture - it's a treasure trove on our door step. This also adds a interesting element of activity to the week days when the store is open. Guest access Our Guests have access to all areas of the house - our common areas are there to be enjoyed. Should you decide to sit on the veranda and watch the daytime hum of a town going about its daily activities, you will find a comfortable space in which to do so. Our cosy kitchen is available should you want to prepare a light meal. Our common lounge has comfortable leather couches for your relaxation and we hope that you will be happy and comfortable during your stay. Other things to note When arriving after 5pm our gate will be closed for the day - please use the intercom on arrival and we will open the gate and welcome you to “At the Loerie”. We have a drop box system to deposit your key should you be leaving very early in the mornings - we will point it out when you check in.
