The space Set within 160 acres of Caplor Farm near Fownhope, Long Meadow View is a spacious countryside lodge for up to six guests in the beautiful Wye Valley. With far-reaching views towards the Black Mountains, a private wood-fired hot tub and a secure wrap-around garden, it is an ideal retreat for families, couples or friends seeking comfort, space and memorable time together. The lodge has two bedrooms, including a master suite with a queen-size bed, walk-in wardrobe and private en-suite shower room, plus a twin bedroom close to the family bathroom. A small double sofa bed in the welcoming lounge provides additional sleeping space. Comfortable sofas, a television and a log-effect fire create a cosy place to relax after a day outdoors. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area includes a fridge-freezer, four-ring hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, making self-catering simple for short breaks or longer stays. Unlimited Wi-Fi is available throughout the lodge. Outside, the private wrap-around garden offers plenty of room to relax. Soak in the wood-fired hot tub, enjoy an alfresco meal on the furnished decking or gather around the barbecue and firepit as evening falls. A wood-fired pizza oven adds something special to outdoor dining and makes shared meals part of the experience. Dedicated on-site parking is provided. The renowned Wye Valley Walk passes directly through Caplor Farm, placing scenic walks on the doorstep. The River Wye is nearby, while Fownhope, picturesque villages, traditional country pubs and Herefordshire attractions are within easy reach. Long Meadow View welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs, making the secure garden especially convenient for pet-friendly stays. It provides a comfortable and secluded base for family breaks, get-togethers and relaxing Wye Valley escapes. Guest access Access to the lodge is on foot, with parking available directly in front of the accommodation for your convenience. Guests are very welcome to explore the farm and surrounding acres of countryside walks, which are free to enjoy during your stay. For everyone’s safety, please do not feed the horses (as tempting as it may be, it can be harmful). We kindly ask that dogs are kept on leads at all times and that you clean up after them. Please be mindful that the farm is also home to our residents and a number of small businesses—do not disturb them. If you’re travelling with an electric vehicle, a Rolec 7kW (32amp) EV charger is available in the hard-standing car park for an additional fee. We’re always mindful of giving our guests space to relax and enjoy their stay, so please don’t be offended if we quietly leave you to it. Other things to note 🔥 Hot Tub Heating & Firewood Our hot tubs are wood-fired, so heating is an optional extra and is not included in the accommodation price. You can choose from: • £10 – DIY Heating: Includes one pack of approved firewood for you to heat the hot tub yourself. • £30 – Ready on Arrival: Our team will fill, prepare and heat the hot tub for you, ready to enjoy around your arrival time. This includes the required firewood and approximately 3 hours of staff time. Additional firewood packs are £10 each if required during your stay. We keep these charges separate so guests who do not wish to use the hot tub are not paying towards its heating costs. Please arrange and pay for hot tub heating in advance, as our team finishes at 4pm and we cannot guarantee last-minute requests.
