Tinker Street Retreat is one of the oldest houses in Woodstock, built by Dutch apple farmer Philip Rick in 1756. We have many modern amenities while maintaining much of the old world charm: Living room with 150" projection screen and full sound. Chef's kitchen. Music Room with piano, drums, guitars. Firepit in a beautiful meadow, hammocks, gardens, small stream and forest trails. * STR Permit 22H-259 The space The house is walking distance to "downtown" Woodstock Right on the main road. During the daytime there can be some road noise but by 8pm it’s very quiet. This is a perfect home base for exploring the entire Catskills by day and cooking at home or going out for fine dining, drinks or live bands nearby at night. Saugerties, Phoenicia and Kingston are just minutes away for added options. A car is pretty necessary for longer stays but many NYC-based guests take the Trailways bus to Woodstock and have a great time for a weekend getaway. The bus can let you off right at the driveway if needed (ask the driver when he gets to Woodstock). Sunfrost Farm market is very close so you can stock up on high quality produce, salads and meats without needing a car. Our bedrooms are all queen size, each room with a unique character to it. Bathrooms have electric heaters for added comfort in the winter. The upstairs bathroom has an old fashioned ceramic tub with antique "telephone style" handheld shower, while downstairs is a luxurious, open-designed riverstone shower. Guest access Our house is an actual, lived in home with 4 acres of grounds and many personal, artistic details. It has stories to tell! Please don't expect a pristine W Hotel or Hilton vibe, but do expect love and smiles at every turn. I am an active artist and musician, and the house is loaded with instruments, books and art to enjoy. Please treat the instruments with care but play if you like. Also Wifi is super fast 295mbs for the tech nerds in the room! The Tinker Street Retreat compound has one main house and two cottages further towards the forest. The cottages are in stages of renovation but the entire property is yours to explore. Other things to note We have hosted many novelists, musicians, visual artists and creative souls over the years. Touring bands have rehearsed, written songs and even recorded here. It is our dream that Tinker Street Retreat becomes known as a great haven for artists in the Catskills.
