Central location on Island . *Guest feedback -- A perfect holiday home away from home on Kangaroo Island --*peaceful and spacious / cosy/comfortable with native animals all around us. * Walking trails from the home along ocean, through the valleys and into national parks. KI's marine precinct. New 2018 2 bedroom fully self contained apartment. Great views. No steps. Spacious, large rooms, kitchen facilities plus all new appliances. The space Central location to use as a base to tour the Island when you consider what travellers mostly come to see and experience. Quiet, peaceful, but close by to ocean, walking trails, local wildlife abound around the apartment in the evening and birds buzz it all day long. This is our second apartment after our success with the first apartment. It has been designed to make the most of both stunning sea and valley views and easily accessible just because it should be!! 6 star energy rated, double glazed large windows and a great aspect to protect and bring in the winter sunshine yet shade from summer sun. American River has a mild climate and avoids the really hot Australian summer weather plus the really cold winters due to the sea currents and weather patterns. The apartment has Large rooms, doors, etc to help with mobility but we think that is really just how all accommodation should be built nowadays to be usable for most guests. Fully setup kitchen with oven. convection microwave, dishwasher and full size fridge. Great to eat in as well as having places in walking distance to also eat out. We have enjoyed building with a clear aim to make it the best for our guests. Gardens are designed to encourage local bird life and wallabies, Kangaroos, echidnas, goannas to linger longer. Guest access The apartment has its own entry, bedrooms, large accessible bathroom, fully self contained kitchen and outdoor deck to relax and see the expansive views of the ocean (Eastern Cove right across to Mainland), sky, valley and watch the birdlife and animals from. Setup to be accessible by an Architect in the family and also pet friendly Other things to note The Island is close to the mainland and a busy capital city yet still feels like its 'outback' in the lack of people, industry, city life most have lived all their lives. The ferry has effectively limited access in the past and still minimises day trippers so you get to see some pristine landscapes and without lots of tourists.
