At times, life here is delightfully simple: limited electricity, no running hot water, and the soothing luxury of a solar or portable shower. These thoughtful touches are part of the charm of disconnecting, slowing down, and fully enjoying the surroundings. The entire cabin is yours, set on four private acres of serene, untouched wilderness. 🏡 CABIN DESCRIPTION The cabin features: Wood floors and tiling Oversized beams Handcrafted furniture and décor A cozy seating and dining area A fully equipped kitchen with a wood-burning stove for heating and cooking A mezzanine sleeping area with one double bed 🍳 KITCHEN The kitchen is well stocked with all essential utensils and cookware. You’ll also find: A small gas cooker (ideal for coffee, tea, soups...) A marble hot plate for outdoor barbecuing Raclette and fondue sets for two Everything you need to prepare simple, comforting meals is provided. 🚿 SHOWER There is no hot running water. You’ll have access to: A solar shower A portable battery-operated shower (indoor or outdoor, using a bucket) On cooler or rainy days, water can be heated on the wood stove — there is always a solution. 🚻 TOILET An outdoor composting toilet is located approximately 10 meters behind the cabin. ⚡ ELECTRICITY & WATER The cabin is powered by renewable solar energy, suitable for low-wattage devices such as: Phone chargers Cameras Battery packs It is not designed for continuous use of laptops, radios, or high-consumption devices. Water for showering and dishwashing is rain-collected. ⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: electricity and water are limited and depend heavily on weather conditions. Guests are kindly asked to use both mindfully and responsibly. 💧 DRINKING WATER A limited supply of drinking water (10L) is provided upon arrival. There is also a natural fresh water source located about 20 minutes on foot from the cabin. You are welcome to fetch water there, and directions will be provided. Alternatively, you may bring additional drinking water with you. 🛏 COMFORT ESSENTIALS Towels and bed linens are provided Firewood is supplied and stored next to the cabin ❄️ FOOD STORAGE There is no fridge, but a small cellar (approx. 8–10°C) is available to store food and drinks — no cooler needed. 🌄 OUTDOOR SPACE A large terrace in front of the cabin offers open views over the mountains and the Bohinj valley. Two reclining chairs are provided — perfect for relaxing, reading, or simply taking in the scenery. ✨ This cabin is ideal for guests seeking authenticity, privacy, and a deep connection with nature — not luxury, but something far more meaningful. Guest access I wish to update both previous and upcoming guests about a change to the parking location for your stay. Due to newly adopted national park regulations, vehicles cannot drive directly to the mountain pasture of Uskovnica. NEW PARKING LOCATION: HOTEL CENTER – Srednja vas v Bohinju 165/a (Rudno polje), 4267 Srednja vas. Pokljuka. NEW MEETING POINT: I’ll meet you at the PARKING LOT before HOTEL CENTER on your arrival date. I’ve attached the photos of the meeting point - parking lot, and my Toyota Land Cruiser to make it easy to find. From the meeting point, I’ll be happy to pick you up and drive you to the cabin with my 4x4 Toyota. ARRIVAL TIME: between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. The latest arrival time is 4:00 PM. We kindly ask guests to use them responsibly throughout their stay. 🎒 PACK SMART I strongly recommend arriving with backpacks containing: Light and warm clothing Proper hiking shoes Night-time temperatures can drop significantly, even during summer. The wood-burning stove inside the cabin will quickly provide warmth if needed. 🌦️ MOUNTAIN WEATHER You are staying in the mountains, where weather can be highly unpredictable. A sunny summer afternoon may suddenly turn into a thunderstorm, which often clears just as quickly. 🥾 MINIMUM OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED This accommodation is best suited for guests who are comfortable hiking, navigating mountain terrain, and spending time in a remote natural environment. Guests should feel confident being outdoors and adapting to changing weather conditions. 📶 CONNECTIVITY 4G mobile coverage is available, but the signal is unstable and limited. Basic browsing is generally possible; streaming may work occasionally depending on weather and signal strength. This is a place to truly disconnect and enjoy the surrounding nature. 🍝 FOOD & NEARBY OPTIONS A limited stock of essential food items is available at the cottage (pasta, rice, sauces, coffee, tea), along with basic cooking ingredients such as salt, pepper, sugar, flour, cooking oil, olive oil, vinegar, and herbs. Nearby options: 1. Mountain Hut Uskovnica, about a 20-minute walk. Savor authentic Slovenian cuisine in a cozy, traditional setting. Open year-round with reasonable prices and a welcoming atmosphere.
