Beautiful and vibrantly colourful apartment in the centre of Amsterdam! The space Hi Everybody! Just a short tram ride south of Amsterdam Central Station takes you into one of the most cosmopolitan and vibrant districts of Amsterdam. Amsterdam is very much about location so welcome to 'De Pijp'! Formerly a working class quarter built to ease the overpopulated Jordaan in the 19th century and to house laborers, de Pijp as we Amsterdammers know it today is without doubt a melting pot of cultures and nationalities. Thanks to previous settlers such as Heijermans, De Haan, Bordewijk, Mondriaan and scores of students in search of a cheap room to rent, de Pijp continues to breathe life as the lively bohemian district known as the Quartier Latin (Latin Quarter, Paris) or El Borne (Barcelona). The young, foolish, the old, students, artists, and families have all chosen to make de Pijp their home, just far enough removed from the hustle and bustle of central Amsterdam, this homely alternative is very appealing. Our flat is easy to access from Amsterdam's Central Station by tram 4 . This means you are home in about 10-15 min travel time. From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport it will take you about 30-35 minutes to the apartment by public transport (± 5 Euro's) and about 10-15 minutes by taxi (± 30 Euro's). The apartment is located on the first floor and is surfaces 75m2. You don't need to share anything with anyone, the place will be yours completely. The apartment is fully equipped with all you should normally need, so your's is only to relax and enjoy it. The place is ideal for a couple , with one sleeping room having a queen-size fixed (160cmx200cm) two persons bed. Our flat has all you need to enjoy your stay in Amsterdam, including super fast wireless internet (WIFI), a HD TV and AppleTV with Netflix and alikes, modern and fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and oven, washing machine, dishwashing machine and a Nespresso coffee machine, hairdryer and iron equipment. The rent includes the following: use of bed linen, towels, toilet paper, coffee machine with complementary 10 Nespresso capsules, clothes and dish washing machine and a bottle of nice wine in the fridge! I will provide you with some city maps and available information about tips and relevant happenings in Amsterdam, the ins and outs, museums, restaurants, bike-rent shops and all you need to know. Check in and check out times can be flexible, depending on your arrival I will check you in myself or organize a responsible friend to be at your disposal. Should you need advice, help of any kind just feel free to ask me. De Pijp is brimming with fantastic cafes, culinary restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Of course, a visit to Amsterdam wouldn't be the same without a trip to the Albert Cuypmarket, flanked by over 100 shops (200m from the flat). If you wander down Van Wou, Albert Cuypstraat and Ferdinand Bolstraat, the main streets in de Pijp, you'll find many exotic and authentic Italian, Spanish, Dutch, French, Turkish, Syrian, Moroccan and Surinamese restaurants, to name but a few, and a typical Amsterdam pub is located on almost every corner. Also in abundance are the Islamic butchers, Surinamese, Spanish, Indian and Turkish delicatessens and grocery stores. Within walking distance from my apartment you will find popular sites such as the Heineken Museum, the Van Gogh Museum, Vondelpark, The Royal Concerthall, Paradiso, Leidseplein and the Rijksmuseum. Also several bike rental shops are within 100m circle so you can explore Amsterdam the best way. 100m down the street on the left you will find the charming Sarphatipark and 100m on the right the Amstel river. Walks around the neighborhood or just a morning coffee of the front French balcony will easily give you the right vibrant feel of Amsterdam. Life is good in De Pijp!
