Nernesholmen

Want a truly special experience for your holiday? How about your own private island in the Hardanger fjord, boat included? Come stay at Nernesholmen! The house is basic but cosy with a newly refurbished bathroom. Enjoy your day at the island, catch your own fish for dinner or use the islet as a base to explore the wonderful Hardanger region. Nernesholmen is probably the only place in Hardanger you can rent a house on an island and have the whole island to yourself. A truly unique opportunity. The space The house is basic, built in the 1930s but modernised and refurbished several times. It is clean, well maintained and most rooms are newly painted. The bathroom has been refurbished in 2021. The house has two bedrooms, both upstairs, one with a double bed and a single, one with two singles. In addition there is a single bed on the upstairs landing. The price includes boat rental and access to basic fishing gear. Fuel provided but not included in the price. For those with a special interest in fishing it is also possible to rent a larger boat, a Quicksliver Pilothouse 605 with fishfinding equipment. Guest access Drive to the end of Nernesvegen and park your car there (owners address is Nernesvegen 179, the main house on the farm on the mainland). Your boat will be waiting for you on the docks. The islet is only 50 meters from the mainland so it is a quick trip across if you want to go anywhere. Bergen is 1,5 hours away. The island can be found in the most commonly used online map service (whose name can not be included in airbnb ads but you know what I mean) by typing in "Nernesholmen" Other things to note Staying at Nernesholmen is probably going to be a holiday memory for life but be sure to remember that you will need to get in a boat to go there. Be sure to arrive during daylight hours so it is safe to get in the boat! In summer that should not be a problem as it is light almost around the clock.
