The Old Bank B&B is a comfortable pretty 18th century house in the centre of the attractive village of Marnhull near Shaftesbury in the heart of Thomas Hardy country. Dog and child friendly with secure garden. Marnhull is an excellent centre to explore countryside and coast. Sherborne, Bath and Salisbury are all within 45 minutes. The perfect location for walking and cycling (lock-up available). Breakfast in the country kitchen or, on sunny days, in the courtyard leading to cottage garden. The space Three bedrooms in total: We have two double rooms (one available as a twin), and a family suite comprising a double room and adjacent twin room. They are also available for single occupancy. Our bedrooms are pretty, country-style rooms, with tea and coffee trays. Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast of local eggs, bacon and mushrooms and home grown tomatoes. Or a continental breakfast with cereals, toast or croissants, homemade jam, local honey, yogurt, cafetiere coffee, tea & fruit juices. Marnhull has two pubs, a chemist and post office/village shop with a cash machine and fresh food. National Trust and English Heritage properties and gardens are close by as are the historic hill forts of Hambledon Hill, Hod Hill and Maiden Castle. Walking, cycling holidays are popular in Dorset and our B&B has facilities to lock-up cycles and to dry clothes. Guest access We welcome guests as a home from home. The Old Bank is a family friendly B&B with free Wifi in all the rooms and tea and coffee making facilities in all the bedrooms. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and is served in our informal and relaxed kitchen (or outside), cooked on a range and served whilst you sit at the table enjoying good coffee or tea, and thinking how you would like to spend the day. Guests are welcome to relax in the garden and eat breakfast in the attractive and flower filled courtyard. Other things to note There are two pubs in the village, one a free house. We are situated next to the village shop, Robin Hill Stores, which has a cash machine and where you can stock up on freshly made sandwiches and other goodies for your days out.
