Casa Rosabel The cottage is of the traditional Canarian type with walls of stone, two feet thick, and a wooden roof. We have isolated the roof and mounted double glazed windows, nights can be cool at this height and it also helps against the heat when summer comes. We have carefully renovated the house, keeping as much of the original as possible, like the old baking oven in the wall of the kitchen. The space Casa Rosabel Telescopes Our guests at Casa Rosabel has the use of a 10" Newton Carbon Tube Both telescopes are mounted on permanent piers with NEQ6Pro heads and SynScan GOTO controllers. The EQ6 have a ST4 compatible input for guiding and they can also be computer controlled through the EQMOD system. We have one Lacerta MGEN autoguider but as it can be used with several different telescopes you should reserve it in case that you want to use the autoguider during your stay on La Palma. Teleskopservice 10" Carbon tube Newton Guests have the use of the 10 inch TS Carbon tube Newton . It has a Baader Steel track 3 inch focuser, a TS-Optics 2 inch Coma Corrector and weights only about 11 kg. M48 and T2 threads are available for camera mounting. Eyepieces TS WA26 ERFLE 26 mm with 70˚ Field TS EXP13 Expanse 13 mm with 70˚ Field TS EXP5 Expanse 5 mm with 70˚ Field 2 inch UHC filter 2 inch moon filter. Aperture: 254 mm Focal length: 1000 mm Guest access Inside the house The bed-sitting room has a queen size bed with an anti-allergic synthetic mattress without iron springs. It also has an open fire place, a sofa and some easy chairs, TV, Satellite TV. DVD player, Music system and an external USB antenna for WiFi connection to your computer. A baby cot is available. Bathroom The bathroom offers a washing machine, iron and hair drier. There is a shower and a bathtub, towels and bathrobes. A drier is also available, in case of a rainy period. The kitchen has an electric stove, a small electric oven, fireplace which also can be used for cooking, fridge with *** freezer, toaster, electric coffee cooker, electric water heater, all necessary pots and pans and an old wood burning baking oven. On the south terrace there is an BBQ. Other things to note Our amateur astronomer guests have the free use of a 10" Newton Carbontube telescope on a fixed pier with a GOTO controller and a 40 cm Dobson telescope , or they can bring their own equipment. For the rest of our guests we try to arrange an evening or two with star-gazing tour.
