Bed, bath and a pond! A sunny cottage in a large garden with a Koi pond just 2 blocks from Vanderbilt and 4 from Belmont and Music Row. At the corner Is Hillsboro Village, home to 15+ eateries-sports bars, coffee houses, live music, ice cream parlor, pool hall, an independent cinema, and cool shops - all you need for city living. Clubs and downtown are 8 minutes + a $5 Uber away or take the bus or rent a bike. There are rabbits in our yard. *Note there is a 3 week minimum stay. Sunny and bright, this 1950's cottage is a an add-on to my pre-Civil War farmhouse with a couple of old fashioned details. There is a built in ironing board, an attic fan which can be used to pull air though the entire house...great on balmy days and nights. The shelves hold overflow books....some of which you can take with you to finish. Just ask. Wi-fi, naturally The television accesses Netflix, Amazon, HBO, Xfinity cable channels and Blockbuster. There is a very good radio because I am an NPR junkie. Bluetooth speaker to plug your iPod or magic phone into. Also, there is a dedicated charging station for your electronics. The queen sized bed has a new Tufts & Needles mattress. All cotton bedding is washed with fragrance free products. The kitchen is well provided with glasses and plates. There is a full sized microwave and a toaster oven should you feel the urge to heat up your take out Kurdish lamb. Coffee, a variety of teas, creamer, snacks and fruit are stocked. The house has its own driveway for parking and there is plenty of street parking at night and on wk-ends. This cottage is fully contained with its own brick patio which opens into the big yard. Feel free to enjoy the pond. There is bug spray in your place...use it. The main garden is over half an acre of old growth trees in the middle of the city...we have wild rabbits and the odd possum (which you never see). The cool of the evening is a great time to have drinks at the pond, even off season, the fish are soothing to watch. Please, make yourself at home. My house is next door to you. Be as private or as friendly as you wish. Please, call me if you need something, do not be shy. Please, let me know if something is not functioning up to par. I am flexible about checkout, especially if no one is coming in on your heels. Just talk to me about this if you need it. I don't like the idea of my guests wandering the streets with their luggage because they have a late flight. If you need transport or any advance information, let me know. If you are gluten free or lactose intolerant, let me know. I am always around mornings and evenings, so feel free to use my 70 years in Nashville to your advantage. I am happy to advise on food, shopping, hidden corners of the town and which of the music venues are worth the visit. If there are unexpected needs I usually have people for them. This is truly the most urban and comfortable neighborhood in town. Hillsboro Village really is an old village. And although the shoe repair shop has given way to gourmet ice-cream, it still a wonderfully convenient place to be. At one corner of Acklen there is everything anyone could wish - at least a dozen restaurants, 3 coffee houses, a cinema which serves drinks and Indie movies,a pizza parlor, a bakery, a dive bar, a pool hall, a micro brewery, clothing stores, ice cream parlor, bike rental, post office, dry cleaner, florist, optician, dentists, beauty products shop and more. Vanderbilt begins at the east edge of the Village. Belmont University is just 3 blocks up the hill; take a left and you are on Music Row. If you are a walker, it is a 2.2 mile jaunt down to Lower Broad with something to look at, drink at, eat at or explore at almost every cross street. There is only one boring stretch as you cross the interstate and NO sketchy stretches. This is the only area of town that can claim that. At the other end of the block, there is Dragon Park with free, public tennis and basketball courts. Five more blocks and you reach the West End / Centennial Park area with great shopping , my favorite dive bar and more restaurants including excellent Indian food. What's not to like? At the corner there is a public bus. A straight shot to downtown or go the other way to our best mall and shopping area. There is a bicycle rental stand just 2 short blocks over. Uber or Lyft will whisk you downtown or any of the central music venues for $4 to $5. The walk to Lower broad is 2.2 miles. There are any number of interesting areas easy walking distance. We are within a 15 minute or less drive to any part of Nashville: 8 minutes to most places of interest. **********Hotel Tax Payment****************** As Airbnb does not collect our local tax, I must. (Nashville has 2 taxes on STRs - 6 1/2% a night hotel tax plus $2.50 a night and a 9.25% state sales tax. Currently, Airbnb is collecting the state sales tax, but I must still bug you for the Hotel Occupancy. Complain to Airbnb; this is annoying for us both(URL HIDDEN)
