The Waiting Room, Stoke Edith Station, Hereford

Nestled within the rolling hills of Herefordshire and surrounded on all four sides by Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is the perfect place to enjoy the English rural idyll, with plenty of railway history thrown in! The accommodation is situated on the site of the original station building which was operational from 1861 - 1965, and has been rebuilt in the style of a typical Great Western Railway building of the Victorian/Edwardian era. Dog friendly, but we stipulate a two dog maximum. The space This beautiful station building is divided into two self-contained holiday lets, The Waiting Room (this two bed property) and The Booking Office (a three bed property). For larger groups, both cottages can be booked to provide sleeping for 10 people. Ground Floor The main entrance is accessed via the sheltered "corridor" in the centre of the building, opening up into a small entrance lobby with concertina doors enclosing a utility area housing a washer/dryer. The lobby leads into a dining room, kitted out with electric fire, and dining furniture with comfortable seating for four. An exposed brick archway leads through to modern galley kitchen with country feel, comprising of a range of well stocked wall & base units, electric oven & hob, fridge/freezer, integrated dishwasher and a vast array of kitchen tools, pots, pans, glassware, crockery and more. Off the kitchen is a good sized lounge with rear door leading to platform patio. First Floor Up the stairs you will find a family bathroom with corner bath and electric shower over, a good size twin room with two single beds, built-in wardrobe, bedside tables, chest of drawers and a blanket/luggage box under Velux window. The master bedroom is a spacious double with king size bed, bedside tables, dressing table/drawers, built-in wardrobe, blanket box under the Velux window and access on through to the en-suite with WC and wash hand basin. Exterior Outside guests can bask in the sunshine out on the platform lawn & BBQ area, a relaxing setting with unspoilt views over the glorious Herefordshire countryside. Or enjoy a meal or drink sitting on the platform patio and soak in the historic feel come rain or shine, sheltered by the station overhang. Each cottage has its own private seating and dining space with BBQ, but please note while there is secure fencing along the boundary to the railway line, your platform terrace is not fully enclosed. However, the main yard gates can be kept closed to create a large & secure communal space, which is ideal for those with dogs or children. In the main yard there are good sized lawns for garden games and badminton (provided), as well as plenty of additional seating. We look forward to welcoming you.
