Private single room in 1915 farm house
A beautiful former farm house with high ceilings and a spacious veranda, set on 2 acres of landscaped garden, with a vegetable patch, and free range chickens providing eggs for breakfast. Our home for 40 years! The space This is our home and you are invited to make it yours during your stay. There is a wonderful ambience: we pretty much live on the verandah with its comfy old chairs and cool breezy openness...like any old home, it has its quirks but there are two wonderful staff to look after it.... and you. Guest access You will have full access apart from one room where we keep our personal stuff. During your stay The groundskeeper Alfred lives on the property and is available 24/7 to help out with any problems etc. The domestic worker Janet works three days a week but will work additional times if you want her to come in (subject to an additional payment directly to her) Other things to note Zimbabwe has frequent power outages and while we have solar lights in three rooms and portable LED lights, you will be without electricity at some point. Remember to charge your devices when the power is on. Municipal water supplies are erratic - we have a borehole but it requires electricity of course. We recommend showering when there is power otherwise you will have to bucket bath. We have a gas stove and oven so cooking is not a problem
