Ancient Olympia –A dream escape in villa with pool

The space The large house with its elegant appeal is designed with a personal and hospitable touch. In its luxurious premises meeting all high standards, 10 at least people can comfortably be accommodated in 5 rooms with en-suite bathrooms (3 rooms at the 1st floor, 1 at the ground floor and another 1 in the basement) and another 5-6 people can sleep in an autonomous in-house apartment at the basement (2 separate areas with shared bathroom – one with twin beds and another with a single bed and a sofa-bed). The main living room on the ground floor includes a dining area for 12, a bar and a large yet cozy fireplace for the chilly winter days. The living room on the basement includes an open kitchen-bar and is unique for use either as a study place, with a desk in front of the 2nd fireplace, or as a playroom since it is dominated by a wooden carved pool table and various other electronic amenities (smart TV, md, table toys etc.). The house provides a well-equipped kitchen with dining area for 6 and all kitchen amenities, including an espresso machine and a microwave. Facilities also include air conditioning in all main rooms, central heating, wifi and a flat-screen smart TV. A lift to all floors can accommodate a moderate wheel-chair for handicapped persons (there are also 2-3 small ramps outdoors for easier access to the swimming pool and the gardens). A vast terrace surrounds the house and offers the ideal setting to enjoy your breakfast/lunch/dinner. The relaxing sounds of birds and cicadas is the perfect backdrop to relax and enjoy the astonishing view of our lovely property and of the surrounding hills covered with green forests. If you are a lover of star gazing, that terrace is the place to be at night!!! The swimming pool area is definitely the main gathering zone during the summer days. The large pool (16 x 6 meters), has different ranges of depth and is next to a large BBQ kiosk (includes both grill, skewer and a wood-oven) with dinning-table for 10 and a shaded living room. One can enjoy the sun in the sunbeds or relax in hammocks under the trees. To step-up the activity there is a table-tennis, a basketball hoop and bicycles. Leisure walks or jogging around the estate or to the forest nearby offer pleasurable moments in nature. Yoga practice during sunset or sunrise in various peaceful corners of the house or the estate is highly recommended. The big advantage is that the estate is isolated by others so visitors can enjoy their relaxing stay without being annoyed or noticed by others. The property is fully fenced and the gardens are suitable for children. Olympia Estate’s unique characteristics, location and surroundings makes it an exceptional destination both for summer and winter travelers. Guest access Although there are supermarkets in the area nearby, we believe that visitors will enjoy eggs from our own production and a variety of own-cultivating bio fruits and vegetables (oranges, grapefruits, apples, pear, grapes, peaches, apricots, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, onions, potatoes, etc.) which are available complimentary depending on the season. In any case, we always provide basic supplies so that you can enjoy and relax upon arrival. In the vicinity of the estate there are 2-3 local taverns with Greek traditional food/grill to either take-away or arrange home-delivery. Plenty of restaurants and taverns in near villages offer the opportunity for culinary experiences of the local cuisine. Other things to note Traditional events & Festivals Ancient Ilida Festival is an important cultural event which is held throughout summer with theatrical performances and concerts from all over Greece which are held in the ancient theatre of Olympia. Climate in Ilia: Summers in Ilia are reliably long and dry with brilliant sunshine and generally calm seas. This sort of weather usually lasts from May to October, with July and August being the hottest months. In spring and autumn there is generally plenty of sun although the temperatures are lower than in the summer. December to March is the wet period. In May there are wild flowers in profusion, and as June approaches the water temperature is rising. Greater quantities of fruit and vegetables are available. In July and August warm seas have phosphorescence and high temperatures. September and October see the start of the grape harvest. The bracken and olive trees remain green throughout the year.
