Most likely we will be traveling during your stay though we have someone that can be available to help should you need anything at all. Here you will find all the best things bucolic Vermont has to offer. Rolling hills, forests, lakes, rivers, farmers markets, family owned farms, and charming towns. We are located off a dirt road and surrounded by trees and even though there are some neighbors not far from us, it feels very remote. There are no street lights, so no light pollution. The town of Marlboro (3 min away) is nothing but a post office and the historic Whetstone Inn. Brattleboro (15/20 min) is a prominent cultural center of southern VT with world famous restaurants, local gift shops, galleries, an art museum, music venue, movie theater and a food co-op. Wilmington (15 min) is a charming village with a similar vibe but smaller. The famous Putney School and Village is 30 min away. 30 min to Mt. Snow Resort, cross country ski right out the door with your own equipment. The closest store/restaurant/cafe from the house is 10 to 20 minutes away, depending on your needs, so we recommend to get your supplies before you arrive. You may reach us by car only. Our address may not come up on Google maps but it is not hard to find. We will send you directions and/or a dropped pin on Google. Download your maps while you have service, in Vermont reception can be spotty. We ask that you have good experience with safely lighting/maintaining a fire and using a wood burning stove. You have to be experienced driving in the snow if you are renting December-March. If you happen upon a snowstorm while you are here, all wheel drive vehicle and snow tires are a MUST. You may have to shovel the path to the driveway if it snows a lot. You have to generally be self sufficient up here... We have a house cat and he remains here at all times. He is friendly but independent, we only ask that you feed him twice a day.
