Description
Lyrebird Cottage is located alongside the pristine World Heritage listed Barrington Tops National Park. Spend your time surrounded by blue gums and enjoy the amazing wildlife! Spot king parrots, pademelons, kookaburras, brush turkeys, lyrebirds and more! Go bushwalking to explore the sub-tropical rainforest, river and local waterholes. Swim in Crystal Pool, play tennis or just sit and relax on your balcony. A special place to get away from it all. The space Guests have access to the entire cottage. Our cottage is very comfortable with a modern kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom has a shower. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed. The staircase takes you up to the loft which has 4 beds in total - two single beds and a bunk with a double and single. The open plan living space has a high raked ceiling with kitchen, dining table, lounge, TV and DVD. The balcony with outdoor table and chairs overlooks the bush and stately blue gum trees. Guests will be entertained by the abundant bird and wildlife. There are books, DVDs, children's toys and board games to keep the family entertained. Guest access Barrington Wilderness Cottages are only accessible by car. Lyrebird Cottage (No 8 Corker Row) has a single carport and additional guest parking is available just outside the entrance gate. The nearest town is Dungog, a 40 minute drive away. The Chichester State Forest and Allyn River are easily accessible on unsealed roads suitable for 2 wheel drive vehicles. There is no mobile phone coverage at the cottage however there is Wi-Fi access available for emergency calls. Other things to note Barrington Wilderness Cottages are spaced in 4 private rows within a spectacular bush setting. The cottages are completely self-contained although they have some shared facilities including a tennis court and BBQ areas. A short leisurely walk from the cottage takes you to the beautiful Crystal Pool swimming hole. To venture a little further, the Blue Gum Walking Track loops around along the Williams River, taking about 1.5hrs. Along the way you will pass between gigantic trees, fascinating undergrowth, small waterfalls and the beautiful Pool of Reflection. For the more adventurous, head up to Rocky Crossing to experience dense rainforest, waterfalls and fresh water swimming holes, hike up into the unique alpine snow gum forests at the 'Tops' or go mountain biking in the local State Forests. Lyrebird Cottage (No 8) provides a perfect place for couples or families to experience a relaxing and yet invigorating holiday in a sensational natural setting. Registration Details Exempt
