The perimeter of this 2.5 acre estate has a natural fence of 20 foot high flowering bushes, 2 streams and a pond. The interior of the property has a long paved pathway which runs through tropical gardens filled with thousands of flowering shrubs. This is a bird and butterfly sanctuary which is as beautiful as many public botanical gardens. The heated pool and spa is enclosed in a screened in porch which has a large seating area which can accommodate a variety of activities. There is a putting green just outside the screened in lanai which is a multipurpose area that can be used for putting, bocce ball, bean bag toss, ping pong, and other outdoor games. There is a large pool area and pool deck. The pool can be heated (extra charge) and the spa can be heated (no charge). There is a BBQ on the pool deck area for lots of outdoor fun. There are plenty of outdoor tables and chairs as well. SAFEHOUSE AMENITIES - This is a safehouse prepared for refuge in the event of a crisis. We hope that there will not be a food shortage, energy blackouts, increase in crime or other issues stemming from war, hurricanes or high inflation but this house is ready. It has a bomb shelter/panic room, Kevlar bullet proof screens on the patio, bullet proof glass windows, new hurricane proof roof, doors and garage doors, several gas generators, large gasoline reserves, several refrigerators to store months worth of food, 3 separate solar panel systems, battery backup systems, propane off grid cooking appliances, 20 citrus trees, 50 banana trees, 100 pineapple plants and more in 5 large vegetable gardens, maximum security gate, multiple security cameras, extensive security lights and more. 3 separate water supplies with multiple off grid water filtration systems are available. 24/7 armed security guards are available upon request. Security dogs and firearms are allowed on the property but are not furnished by us in compliance with rental rules. There is an enormous stash of paper products, household goods, food, water, etc. that could last for years which is in a climate controlled storage area on site. The large pond is stocked with edible fish - blue gill, crappie, large mouth bass, and channel catfish. There are edible birds which provide eggs as well. In short you and your family can live here as stress free as possible in these uncertain times, yet be able to enjoy a virtual paradise living environment. The 1,500' of winding paved pathways and 900' of driveways will take you through the natural gardens and butterfly plants that surround the property. Over 10,000 flowering tropical plants with rich red, yellow, white and purple flowers line the nearly third mile of pathways. SHOPPING - Just a mile to dozens of grocery stores and restaurants. Walmart is a mile away. 4.5 miles to the luxurious UTC mall and shopping area. BEACHES - Several beaches are located nearby. We include beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels, and coolers for your trips to the beach. OUTDOOR FUN - Corn hole bean bag toss game is ready for action! While the great beaches, restaurants and shopping are just a short drive away hanging out in the pool and hot tub was one of our favorite things to do. The grill, putting green, ping pong table and other games made it an easy place to relax and enjoy good friends and family. There is so much space to hang out and relax in the outdoor areas with a tv, fire and outdoor bar area with fridge. Working with Gene was very easy and he was very accommodating. Charlotte, NC JD I says: Truly a paradise in a quiet Sarasota neighborhood From the private, almost Batman-like entrance into a manicured landscaped driveway, to the warm and welcoming entrance and easy-living great room, to the OMG pathways around the property that includes a beautiful pond with fish and turtles, this is an amazing property. The master suite with private bath, large walk-in closet and access to the huge and well-appointed lanai is both peaceful and secluded. The other two bedrooms, on the other side of the home, are well-sized and share another very nice bath. The lanai with lovely pool, toys, lots of comfortable furniture, large grill about anything you can think of including a popcorn machine (no kidding!) is visible from almost every room in the home. The location is convenient to numerous grocery stores, restaurants and major thoroughfares to highways (east) and to the beach (west). Quiet, well-appointed and incredibly you have an upcoming family gathering or get-together of friends this is a property you want to seriously (and I mean seriously) consider. And, the owner is very responsive and (while we did not meet him in person) is very nice Guest access The driveway is 900 feet long, big enough for cars, boats and RVs. Sidewalks run through the neighborhood for cycling or walking. Walmart, grocery stores and restaurants are in abundance just a few minutes drive away. The downtown area has many shops near the beach and is a short drive. Other things to note Dishes, pots, pans, silverware and other cooking and dining necessities are provided. There is a separate beverage refrigerator on the lanai along with a game table, 2 sets of furniture, and a patio dining table.
