Forest View is a comfortable one bedroomed cottage at The Rock in the stunning Forest of Dean, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Set at the edge of the forest in tranquil gardens, The Rock enjoys far reaching views across open farmland to the distant Malvern Hills. Forest View Cottage offers a well-equipped open plan contemporary styled kitchen/living area on the ground floor and a spacious bedroom upstairs with king sized bed and separate shower room. Outside is a private decked area. The space Forest View is a comfortable one bedroomed cottage at The Rock in Hillersland near Coleford in the stunning Forest of Dean, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Set at the edge of the forest in tranquil gardens and grounds, The Rock enjoys far reaching 25-mile views across open farmland to the distant Malvern Hills. A short stroll through the forest leads to Symonds Yat known as one of the finest viewpoints in southern England which perches over the River Wye below. This area is very popular for cycling, walking, caving, climbing and canoeing in addition to multiple tourist attractions for all ages. The forest is a haven for wildlife and birds with regular sightings of fallow deer, muntjac deer and wild boar with peregrine falcons and goshawks nesting on the cliffs at Symonds Yat. Forest View Cottage itself is attached to the owners' home, a 16th century coaching inn. The cottage offers an open plan contemporary styled kitchen/dining/living area on the ground floor and a spacious double bedroom upstairs with king sized bed and separate shower room with heated towel rail. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine and pots, pans, crockery, and cutlery. There is a 49” Freeview TV in the living area and a 17” Freeview TV in the bedroom. All bed linen, towels, electricity and Wi-Fi is included. Outside is a private decked area with garden furniture and access to the large grounds. Two further garden lodges are available within the grounds of The Rock, each sleep two people - search for them on Airbnb "Cosy lodge with stunning views by Symonds Yat" and "Comfortable lodge with stunning views, Symonds Yat". Forest View Cottage is dog friendly accepting a maximum of two well behaved dogs for a small supplement (£5 per dog per night payable on arrival) – with the forest just opposite The Rock there is plenty of space for exercise. We also welcome infants and young children (£10 supplement per child per night) and have a cot and highchair available on request. For older children we offer a folding jay- bed which is suitable for children up to about 10 years of age - please contact us to discuss your needs before booking. Please note that as there is only one bedroom the child/ren would need to sleep in the same room as the parents The Rock offers plenty of car and bike parking and electric charge hook up points (at extra cost). The local shop is 2 miles down the road and the closest pub and restaurant is ¾ mile away. There are easy transport links to Gloucester, Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff. All accommodation and grounds are non-smoking.
