Home and Away Stay- Avalon, Newport, Palm Beach

A comfortable and cosy space in an area filled with peace and beauty. The view is spectacular and the serenity comes free of charge! *Minutes from the sand and surf of some of the world's best beaches and filming location of Australia's classic "Home and Away" series. *Bus stop a 2 minute walk. *Although we do not offer cooking facilities, cafes and restaurants abound in our area. The space Your accommodation consists of a single large room (29 square meters total) with r a King sized bed. There is also a pull out sofa bed. There is an extra charge of $20 if the sofa bed is requested with a booking for 2 people. The extra linen fee is waived, however if the booking is for 3 or 4 people as the extra guest fee covers it. Beds are dressed with quality linens and pillows. We offer a lovely, self-contained area with en-suite, private access and outdoor patio which may be shared should our additional Airbnb accommodation also be booked at the same time. Your space is the lower level of our family home. The entry foyer to the stairs leading up to our home is on the same level. You are within minutes drive of Avalon, Palm Beach, Newport Beach, Whale Beach and Newport Beach. The Ku-ringai National Park is a beautiful half hours drive where you can access numerous walking trails and notable Aboriginal rock carvings and learn about their history in our area. Sailing or Fishing on Pittwater is also available. The wharf at Taylor's point is an excellent spot to throw in a line or just relax with a glass or cup of your favourite drink. After a day spent taking in our area you will find that your room is spacious, there is room for a sofa and coffee table set before a flat screen TV. The sofa opens out to a double bed. While the pullout is ideal for children, we encourage discussion before booking for adults as the size of the pullout is that of a double bed. (Please note: Bedding for the Pullout sofa is not included in a booking fee for 2 guests. If you would like to use the pullout sofabed in addition to the king bed, we can supply linen for that purpose at a $20 fee) We also offer a small bar fridge, kettle and microwave. A supply of freshly ground coffee is provided for use in the french press and there is a variety of tea bags, some herbal. Our beach inspired bathroom is also large and roomy. It is equipped with hair dryer, shower gel and shampoo. The iron is located under the sink. The deep, claw foot bath is perfect for a long, lazy soak after a day out bush walking or enjoying any of the amazing outdoor activities possible with what nature has provided to our area. As the tub is a clawfoot, it may be unsuitable for those with mobility issues. As this room backs onto a rock shelf behind, it stays cool in the summer. There is a ceiling fan and louver windows to enjoy the pleasant sea breezes. We also provide a small table fan for extra comfort. Your room opens through French doors onto the patio outside. This space is shared should the other Airbnb accommodation be booked. There is a sitting space with table and chairs providing you an open air location to appreciate the views over Pittwater laid out before you! We have recently added a retractable awning which can provide protection from rain and sun when sitting outside. If you request we can leave the remote controller in the room for you. Our guests will find plenty of street parking in Yarrabee Close which is located adjacent to our driveway. There is additional parking down the road toward Hansford parade. Avoid the double while line areas as you may get ticketed if parked there. Our driveway is steep but the view at the top is well worth the effort. Your accommodation is on the lower level of our family home (Air bnb accommodation is the only space on this level other than our entry foyer) Your space is located beneath our kitchen above. We are a busy family that enjoys life with 3 grown children (not all here at once anymore :)) and 2a Miniature Schnauzer. WHILE WE ARE MINDFUL OF HAVING GUESTS BELOW AND HAVE INSULATED THE CEILING FOR NOISE WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THERE WILL NOT BE NOISE TRANSFER FROM OUR LIFE ABOVE. WE ALSO POINT OUT THAT WE HAVE A MINIATURE SCHNAUZER THAT MAY BARK AT YOUR ARRIVAL. AS THIS ACCOMMODATION OFFERS SELF CHECK IN AND AS THE ARRIVAL TIME OF GUESTS IS VARIED, THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY THAT YOU WILL ARRIVE WHEN THE DOGS ARE UNATTENDED. THIS CAN RESULT IN A LONGER TIME FOR THEM TO SETTLE ONCE YOU HAVE ARRIVED. There is a set of 11 steps from the driveway to the patio which provides entry to your room. A key will be made available in a safe lock box for you to come and go as you please. At times the key will be left in the door ready for your arrival. The entry to our family home is off the same patio. We have a separate entry door. If there is no one at home, we are usually always available on the mobile for any queries. Just ask if there is information we may have left out. We will look forward to hosting you! Guest access Guests will have access to a large, private open plan room that includes lounge area space. The room has separate entry door. A spacious ensuite has a clawfoot bath with shower above. To avoid disappointment later, we do stress that there are no cooking facilities available in this room. If you require cooking facilities, you might consider our 2nd listing available at the same location. Guests are welcome to enjoy the sitting area outside of their room for a bit of sun, to enjoy the view and the fresh air! At times this area may be shared with other guests should our additional Airbnb room which is located adjacent to your accomodation be booked. Other things to note The claw-foot bath is another consideration our guests need to be aware of. While it is deep and beautiful to have a nice long soak, those with mobility issues will find it a challenge to get in and out. We have a Miniature Schnauzer who often herald the arrival of guests. They do not shed and they do NOT spend time in the Airbnb accommodation. We usually keep a gate at the top of our stairs so they cannot reach the entry foyer as the dogs stay more calm if they cannot see our guests when they arrive. Please be aware that there is no fly screen in our place. About Pests Please wash your dishes and take out the trash to the outdoor bins quickly. Pests like roaches and spiders are a part of nature in our area. Even though we keep things clean, you might still see them sometimes, especially if there are food leftovers or dirty dishes. If you cannot accept this, please do not make a reservation. We currently offer a second Airbnb space adjacent to this space which does have a small.kitchette.
