The property's location was chosen by the Raja of Nepal for his residence, he bought from an english lady Ms. A.A. Fair, hence the Palace being named Fair Lawns. The Palace, though a heritage property, is now in ruins, but due to its unique and salubrious location, these cottages were constructed with a view to providing the guests with an un-interrupted panaromic view of the Doon valley on one side and the twinkling lights of the crowded Mall Road, Mussoorie on the other. The space The location is scenic and quiet. The cottage is a duplex type with a drawing cum dining room, with an open kitchen, and a small room for a single folding bed and a toilet on the ground floor. A staircase takes you to another small room for the extra guest, leading to the 2 bedrooms each with attached bathrooms. Open sitting spaces overlooking mountains and the Doon Valley. The cottage is accessible right upto the door by car with adequate parking, a rare luxury in hills. The property offers to the guests a safe gated campus with scenic views and prompts going on quiet walks over fallen oak leaves to nearby places. There are playing grounds for children, a Hindu temple, a club house which has carrom, billiards, table tennis and card tables for entertainment. Besides a fully equipped kitchen inside the cottage, home styled food can be ordered from the Club kitchen, against payment, and which be delivered to the cottage. Maintenance staff are available 24x7 and are all very helpful and courteous. Grocery shops and roadside shops are close by and will deliver on request. State bus service ply regularly and taxis are easily available for any destination around. Oak Grove School and St Georges School are within 1 Km. Jaypee Residency Manor and Claridges hotel, both high end hotels are within 2 Kms drive for good food/coffee/cakes. Guest access You have full access to the house and gated campus around it, including all facilities. Other things to note The cottage has been fully renovated and refurbished in February 2020 and is very good and comfortable. Its not trying to be a hotel but a home away from home 😊
