Want to recharge your soul, have a digital detox, swap screens for mountain scenes, enjoy wildlife, bushwalks, waterfalls, tree swings, hammocks, campfires and bike rides along scenic country roads? You'll be "off grid" - that means NO ELECTRICITY, alternative power sources are used here - it feels like camping but all set up, you just bring your towels, bedding, food and create lasting memories without the fuss. Our eco-friendly "Hippy Hut" will be your peaceful, relaxing self-contained escape, to unplug & unwind, reconnect with nature, on the edge of a pristine rainforest with the Obi Obi Creek running through it. The property is also a small hobby farm with fruits, vegetables, herbs, farmed on permaculture principles with a friendly flock of heritage chickens to feed and collect top quality eggs. We have only the one eco-cabin here, so you are not sharing with any other guests, it's like camping only better... no noisy campers nearby! Quiet nights by the campfire, frogs, owls calling amid the many sounds of the forest and a crackling fire. Maleny is a declared "dark skies" zone, minimum light pollution here on the mountain so you'll enjoy intensely beautiful views of the milky way. As well as the 1 bedroom shack, there's lots of lawn so you may like to set up additional tents or bring your friends with a campervan, or set up a "glamping " tent of your own. We provide outdoor tables & access to all the hut's facilities, kitchen, bathroom, showers etc. The bedroom is really only suited to couples or family of 3 that's why we offer the option of also bringing tents etc so you can have added guests, enjoying hippy vibes and quality time in nature (but no parties, it's definitely not a party venue). Chill and unwind and be surrounded by wildlife sights and sounds yet only a short 8 mins to superb restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, boutique shopping, galleries, etc in Maleny. PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY, and click on photos - there is NO POWER or WiFi at this retreat - thus a "digital detox". Private areas: The other side of property has no entry sign, my house & garden and black fenced area is a private area no access. I live onsite and prefer not to be disturbed at night unless there's an emergency. Noise disturbance outside after 10pm, at the firepit is not ok as it is meant to be a wildlife sanctuary, a peaceful place for wildlife. Definitely not a party venue. Restriction of water usage late at night after 10pm (which activates loud pump) is appreciated, eg not not leaving taps dripping, constantly flushing toilet. Our rainforest section is ONLY FOR WILDLIFE. Birdwatching, viewing wallabies etc from the seating at the edge is encouraged but there are no tracks, it is NOT safe to walk through, steep slopes, possible snakes, ticks, spiders. There are Gympie stinger trees also. Disturbance of endangered plants and animals is why we have this rule. Well maintained board walks through superb rainforest are nearby, see brochures supplied.
