Private House and pool. 4 star rating. Set in the 'golden triangle of the Dordogne'. Set in quiet area - no road noise. Great location, near to Sarlat, Dordogne River, many Chateaux, La Roque-de-Gageac and Rocamador. A stunning, spacious house, large lounge, kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (one bedroom/bathroom on the ground floor). Private large garden with pool, fire pit and covered lounge and two outside eating areas to really enjoy the al-fresco lifestyle. The space Set on a quiet country lane, very calm and peaceful but with lots of activities nearby and places to visit in this beautiful area. The house is in a fantastic location and a short drive to the following top attractions of this region : Châteaus: Milandes, Castelnaud, Beynac, Fenelon. Caves: Grouffre de Padirac, Lacave, Grotte de Cougnac, Lascaux. Beautiful villages: Rocamadour, La Roque de Gageac, Sarlat, Autoire, Martel and Domme. Visits to vineyards and wine tastings: Château de Chambert, Château de Mercues, known for their Malbec. French markets and some evening markets 'marche gourmands' every week in some of the local villages. Activities: canoeing, natural swimming, cycling, walking and fishing. Birds and Wildlife: - Many visiting birds (hence the name of the property) from red-tail kites, nightingales, woodpeckers and hoopoes, to name a few, and you will also hear the exotic birdsong of the local golden orioles which nest in the woods at the end of the garden. Occasionally there are several deer in the fields next to the garden, red squirrels and the odd fox. Enjoy swimming in the pool and eating Alfresco: With sunny days and balmy evenings - ok, we can't guarantee them but generally in this region the summer weather is amazing. There are outdoor lights and we also provide lots of candles to give a really special feel to your evenings. Sunsets - spend your evening relaxing in the outdoor lounge area, the view down the valley from the balcony is to the west, you will see the most amazing sunsets and huge skies to the distant hills of Domme. Huge night skies, with the Milky Way floating over the house. The fire pit seating area gives you a place to stargaze later in the evening, a lovely way to relax and toast marshmallows! We will give you plenty ideas for things to do when you arrive and we leave you with local maps and walking routes. We are sure you’ll make many memories and have an amazing stay here. Guest access Entire house, pool, gardens and parking. It is all completely yours and private (no host in the house). We live on the grounds but in a separate barn with separate access. Other things to note The house is only available in the summer for rental and 2020 was our first season. I hope you will have a wonderful stay here. Our cleaning regime is extremely thorough, but we have increased these measures even further, in line with expert guidelines, including cleaning/disinfecting all surfaces, handles, light switches. All linen is washed at high temperatures. As well as fresh linen and towels, each bed will have freshly laundered mattress protectors and pillow protectors. We have a strict check out and check in times and due to the increased measures we are taking we ask for you to respect these times so we can have the house in it's best condition for every new guest.
