Description
The beautiful location of this cosy detached cottage is a perfect base for a holiday all year round – whether you are looking for an outdoor activities break or a quiet retreat, or maybe a bit of both! Situated in a secluded spot, within a wooded area, there are scenic walks straight from the doorstep, yet it is not too far from amenities. It is a great base to explore all that Snowdonia has to offer and the open fire in the lounge makes for a relaxing and comfortable evening. The space Tan-Y-Garth Cottage was built as a minister’s house next to a Methodist Chapel at the end of the 19th Century. After the Chapel was de-consecrated it was bought by a walking club. The Walking Club converted the Chapel into a Walking Hut and the Cottage was modernized to provide comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to six people at a reasonable cost. Please note there is one king size bed, two single beds and a sofa bed which can be made into a small double bed. The kitchen is well appointed with an electric oven, ceramic hob with extractor hood, fridge and small freezer (fridge 61L, freezer 24L), microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. It is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. However tea, coffee, sugar and condiments are not provided; so please bring your own. Electric storage radiators warm the cottage and there is an open fire in the lounge. Coal is provided for the open fire but please bring your own firelighters and logs if you would prefer to burn wood. There are electric wall heaters in the kitchen and bathroom and there are additional electric heaters for really cold days. The electric immersion heater provides plenty of hot water. The bathroom has a washbasin, walk-in shower and a toilet. There is an additional separate WC. All linen and towels are provided. High speed WiFi is available, and a new 40 inch smart TV is set up to stream TV or subscription channels (if you subscribe to Netflix, Amazon prime etc) via the internet. There is also a DVD player with a DVD library. Well behaved pets are most welcome but we request that you bring your own pet bedding and keep them off the furniture. There is a small garden area surrounding the cottage with a picnic bench for sunny days. Parking for the cottage is between the cottage and the walking hut next door. The lower car park is for guests staying at the walking hut. The cottage is strictly no smoking. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and garden. Access to the cottage is via a key safe. There are two steps at the front door taking you into the cottage. There are no steps at the back door. The staircase leading to the two bedrooms and bathroom is quite steep and narrow making the accommodation unsuitable for some people. Other things to note The cottage has a double bedroom (with a king size bed) and a twin bedroom to accommodate 4 guests. There is a sofa bed in the dining area , which opens out to a small double bed , to accommodate 2 further guests - bedding for the sofa bed and towels for the additional guests are found in the wardrobe of the twin bedroom. Guests are required to set up the sofa bed for themselves. Guests are asked to strip the beds they have used (not mattress protectors unless soiled) before they leave and put the bedding inside the provided laundry bags, along with used towels, tea towels and bathmat: and leave them in the bedrooms.
