Stylish barn loft, private entrance nr coast path

Highfield Barn is a self-contained loft snug above the old barns and potting shed, attached to our Georgian house. You have a private entrance and key code - easy check-in. This is a family house but the Barn is in a quiet setting to the left of the the main house. The Barn overlooks the Mendips and the garden, which has sea views. 10 min walk to the High St & 6 min to waterfront pub ‘The Windmill’. Driveway parking for one car, WiFi, TV, electric gates. Note: Tea point only, no kitchen. The space Highfield is a family house on a hill in the town which looks out to the estuary. You have a large 24 x 14 feet studio barn plus ensuite with shower room above the old stable and potting shed (latter still in use); bikes/motorbikes can be dry stored downstairs. Fresh towels and toiletries are provided in addition to tea and coffee and a mini fridge with milk. Please bring extra bottled water if needed as we provide two small bottles per stay. King-size bed and nice views over the garden. The room has a scandi, airy and bright designer feel. It’s light from 6 am and the birds here are tweeting as the garden is full of them, so please bring eye mask and ear plugs if you’re a very sensitive sleeper. The king-size bed has a comfy memory foam mattress. There is free Wi-fi. There’s also a small, put-up desk if you need to work. ** Please note that there is not a full kitchen in the barn just a simple coffee point so it is ideal as a short-stopover or for those who prefer to eat out. Also note we are on a hill - it’s about 15-20 minute incline from the marina. Without it we would not have the great views! The driveway offers secure gated parking for ONE small to normal sized car - not suitable for vans / trailers etc. Please park by the little log saying AirB P. Please message about special rates in Jan - April for longer work away stays. Guest access From Spring there is a table outside for guest use and two chairs by the fig tree. A fire-pit is available if required. Other things to note The room is let on a room-only basis with tea and coffee provided. There is no kitchen. The fridge has an eco setting which is quiet at night but you can switch up to full during the day. Breakfast is available locally: The Royal Pub Mac Donald’s (early) Cafe marina Impero Lounge Oceans cafe (portacabin by the harbour chandlery - cheap trad full English) Mokoko cafe - Trendy patisierre on harbour next to Costa Aqua on marina (posh sit down, park for free in Waitrose for 2 hrs) + There is a Tesco 3 min walk that do baked goods / croissants etc Restaurants and pubs Windmill pub very close - coast views, average pub food, good for a drink Aqua - on the harbour, good food and outdoor seating The Royal - sea views, best Sunday Lunch Hall and Woodhouse - trendy pub made of containers Impero Lounge - good chain, nice vibes, good breakfast The Port - microbrewery and pizzas on the High St
