Stone houses in the woods

Two stone houses immersed in the woods, in the small "Gropp" complex, reachable from the parking lot in 18 minutes on foot along a paved pedestrian road, the last 10 minutes of which are a slightly uphill path in the woods. Dedicated to those who love nature, those who appreciate tranquility, simple life, those who are not discouraged if at night they hear the animals of the forest wandering, those who are enchanted to listen to the birds and those who love swimming in the magnificent blue pools of the Maggia River. The space The property consists of two ancient stone houses: in the main one, on the ground floor you will find the kitchen (refrigerator, electric plates, toaster, Italian coffee maker) with an old wood stove with which you can both heat the house and cook (the polenta cooked in the pot on the stove is delicious!). Through a wooden staircase you reach the bedroom consisting of a double bed, the presence of a trap door allows you to close the passage from the kitchen to the room. From the bedroom, a French window allows you to access the outdoor spaces and the small house that houses the bathroom with shower (electric boiler). The property is surrounded by woods and at dusk you can meet badgers and dormice but also deer, roe deer and smaller animals such as squirrels and dormice running around on the roof; it is surrounded by a cozy outdoor space where you can relax on the deck chair and also eat (outdoor table and chairs are available), around you, only the sounds of nature. In the house you will find sheets, towels, dish towels and all the products to keep it clean during your stay. There is a small charcoal/wood grill in the cellar. The nearest store is in Verscio (Coop) about 2.5 km from Ponte Brolla, reachable by car, train or bus. We recommend bringing breakfast food with you upon arrival; in the house you will find coffee and sugar, salt, spices, oil and vinegar. Other things to note I recommend a backpack or a small trolley, knowing that for part of the trail you will not be able to pull it. It's useful to bring a flashlight to illuminate the path if you come back in the evening, as well as a folding umbrella. There is a parking lot reserved for people who reside in the "Monti Croppi" area where you can leave your car after purchasing the subscription at the cost of CHF 10 at the Town Hall of Terre di Pedemonte in Tegna on working days.
