Our lovely vacation villa called " Iffa House Galle" is located in Galle - Fort, which is close to local amenities. The city consists of a new part and an old part. The old part of Galle - Galle Fort, is as its name implies surrounded by a big city wall. The city was built by the Dutch, beginning in 1663, and even today it is an amazing collection of structures dating back through the centuries. Inside the Galle Fort there is also churches, mosques and temples. The narrow streets makes you even forget that you are in Sri Lanka. Its actually feels like walking the streets of a medieval city in Europe! The people in Galle are no stranger for visitors, very friendly. So there is no need to worry about going around. In Galle fort you will see many foreigners than locals. So well known as European city. The fastest and easiest way to get around is to take a taxi from the airport, via the expressway, the drive is only about 2 hours to reach Galle and our place. The taxi fare varies, typically costs around 10,000/- rs. If you want a more economic alternative to getting to Galle, the train, of course, will be your option. However, travel time is longer and certainly less convenient compare with the taxi. From the airport, you'll have to travel one hour to train station, then travel for 2hr and 45min to get Galle. The bus also travels to Galle. Which is another economic option. The bus stand is located in Maharagama and Kaduwela. It takes less than two hours reach Galle on expressway. We can also help to arrange for you air-conditioned Van / Car to pick you up at the airport with the cost of about 10,000/- rupees
