Secret holiday a gold miners cabin in the bush

This quiet, off-grid, self contained pioneer gold-miners cabin sits next to a clear fresh water creek in its own meadow surrounded by mature bush and is totally private ( but only 10 minutes walk to town ), you can swim in the creek complete with waterfall, and sleep in a comfortable cozy double bed in a traditional style hut with the little extras to make your stay comfortable. Go and explore the many acres of bush, mine workings and walking tracks, this is all yours to enjoy just by yourself. The space Complete privacy, no noise, total relaxation , you hear the wind rustling the leaves of the trees, birds singing and water babbling, set in 60 acres of private property, this place has simplicity, tranquility, peace and quiet stamped all over it, your accomodation is basic but comfortable and full of thoughtful extras that make your stay easy and fun, as well as a crystal clear water creek next to your cabin to cool down in and shade of the trees A cooking stove with a hot plate, pots and pans and utensils are provided so you can cook or BBQ, an open air shower under the stars or under the sun is on your doorstep with plenty of hot water. You can also have a bath under the stars, a cast iron bath in the open air to relax in Leave your worries behind, hang in the hammock, listen to the birds, lay in the sun, relax, read, cook outdoors with our rustic kitchen cookhouse, drink wine or a beer cooled in the stream, let life happen, no other guests nearby or anybody else to get in your way, this is your bit of New Zealand for the duration of your stay. We can provide all the ingredients for a yummy DIY breakfast for an extra $30 per person ( we will make sure you get a breakfast you like ) Although you feel miles away from civilisation in this sheltered glade in the NZ bush, it is within walking distance of whatever hustle and bustle Picton has to offer, restaurants, pubs, museums etc. lots of tracks and walks with views all just a few minutes away, a fantastic mountain bike park nearby as well as the marvellous Marlborough Sounds with dolphins, orcas, seals etc. sailing , kayaking, mountain biking Also in the area there are famous vineyards and wineries with fabulous restaurants. You can fly into Picton airport from Wellington and other NZ towns with Sounds Air, and we pick you up, you can also come on the Ferry from Wellington, we have a safe car park space if you come by car. Wifi is available for free in the town Library, but not at the cabin, phone reception is not great, no mains electricity at the cabin…….a perfect hideaway for peace and quiet, a digital refuge Guest access Access to walking tracks, interact with animals ( alpaca, highland cows, Kunekune pigs ) and bush wildlife, have a bath or shower under the stars, your own meadow and bush to explore, nearby Marlborough Sounds, great for kayaking, walking, mail boat, mountain biking Other things to note If you like to be left to do your own thing and relax and enjoy the surroundings of the NZ bush, you are going to love it, great for a honey moon or romantic getaway. If you like all mod cons , close neighbors, electronic media and inner city life you probably won't like it here. We would like you to stay a minimum of 2 nights, this is a place to settle down and chill for a while, forget your worries and enjoy the best of NZ bush Please leave the place as you found it , we may have to charge for excessive cleaning etc.
