It's a Log cabin with a capacity of max 7, built at the foot of Carpathian Mountains in a quiet area with a great view and easy hiking access to Fagaras Mountains range which includes the top two highest peaks of Carpathians: Moldoveanu and Negoiu. The Cabin built from massive logs, have a large living room with open kitchen and a toilet with shower on ground floor that can accommodate 4 people, and two bedrooms with a toilet and shower upstairs that can accommodate 5 people. At the entrance it is a 15 square meters porch over viewing the Fagaras Mountain Range. The whole cabin have full access to modern utilities such as power, hot water, central log heating system, TV satellite dish, wireless internet connection. Sibiu International Airport is the closest one to the location only 42 km (around 25 miles) away. My recommendation for an easy access to the location is to contact us previously so we could arrange a vehicle to wait for the guest at the airport. If you'll come by your own vehicle or by rented car, the best way is to use the GPS coordinates. Other meaning to get here could prove a little bit challenging or more expensive. We could give them full privacy or if they request we could fully interact. We live in an identical cabin about 60 meters (63 yards) away, therefore it is the guests decision on how we interact. We do not have many neighbors in the area, the closest one is few hundred meters (yards) away. The Cabin itself have a beautiful panoramic view of the Fagaras Mountain Range, with easy access for hiking on marked route to ''Cabana Negoiu'' that takes around 2 1/2 hours on foot, and from there to the whole range of different mountain sites such as other cabins along the range, different glaciers lakes and even undiscovered caves and some ancient archeological sites. The wild life is at home here where one could met anything from majestic Deer with their kind Doe's, to Black and Brown Bears, Foxes, and Lynxes, wild Boars and Black mountain Goats, and of course, the famous Carpathian timber Wolves (some consider it the largest wolves in the world). Even so, we do not record any attacks on humans in the last years in our area but we do strongly advice to NOT wonder off the marked path to your destination. Porumbacu river is only few hundred yards away and the option of fly fishing it's at hand for those who like this sport. Mountain bikes are available free of charge from us for those who would like a ride through the forest roads. Public transit is limited to train access to near by village Porumbacu de Jos 9 km (around 6 miles) away, or bus stop in Porumbacu de Sus 3 km (2 miles) away at certain hours from Sibiu, which is the closes city by. Taxi's could also be an option but it is not a cheap one. Best option that we recommend is to contact us and together we will sorted out a convenient solution for everyone, eventually, depending on the circumstances, we may come ourselves to pick you up. The whole area is full of touristic sites such as medieval fortified churches and monasteries, ancient castles and historic battle sites. Cities such as Sibiu with a lot of cultural events every weekend and a beautiful unique architectural stile kept in good condition in town center, or Sighisoara known as birth place of Vlad Dracula and the only medieval fortress in Europe that people still live in. Olt river is also in vicinity 9 km away, which give access to fishing and water sports.
