Description

Apple Tree Cot is a charming Grade II listed 17th century cottage - said to be the oldest in Cawsand village - boasting a perfect balance of characterful features and modern comforts and just one minute from Cawsand beach. It is perfect for families, groups of friends up to 6 people, or couples looking for a quiet getaway. Cawsand is an unspoilt Cornish fishing village set in beautiful countryside, ideal for walking, sailing, swimming, fishing, golf, sampling local ales and much more! The space Apple Tree Cot was built around 400 years ago as a farmhouse and retains many special features including an inglenook fireplace, stone flagged floors and an ancient apple tree that still shades its tranquil south facing garden with its ‘secret’ door leading to a smuggler's passage. Apple Tree Cot is considerably larger inside than out! Inside the cottage there are the following living spaces: a dining room with a large table that comfortably seats 6 people, plus a wood burning stove and comfy seating area; a cosy sitting room with an open fire; a sun lounge with underfloor heating - very popular amongst guests; and an eat-in kitchen with step free access to the garden, plus a downstairs toilet. Many guests comment that the layout of the cottage works really well whether you are group of 6 or just a couple looking for a quiet get away. Upstairs, each of the three bedrooms have their own character and special features such as a sit in window and exposed stone walls. The bathroom has an over the bath power shower. One of the twin bedrooms has its own wash basin. Stories about the cottage abound! Previous residents include the family of the Earl of Mount Edgecombe's second groomsman, and the mysterious Mrs Stivey whose savings, according to local folklore, still remain hidden in the cottage! Guest access Guests will have access to the whole cottage and the garden just for themselves. Other things to note DOGS: I am happy to consider dogs staying at Apple Tree Cot. Please send me a message requesting this with some information about your dog. There are, of course, house rules for dogs, and there is an extra fee of £40 per dog per week.
