A Fabulous Cottage, Near Sherborne, Dorset

The cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Bradford Abbas a stone’s throw from the historic town of Sherborne. Our home is a small detached converted barn sympathetically converted and full of character whilst being modern and fresh. The double height living area offers space and light in this cosy home. The twin room and bathroom are on the ground floor with the double room on the first floor. The home from home kitchen has everything you need to prepare family meals. The space You have your own entrance, and off-street parking. Fast wifi and a garden in which to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Dorset countryside. Situated on the edge of the Somerset and Dorset border, Bradford Abbas is the perfect place to explore from. If you love the beach, then you are in easy reach of the Jurassic coast and beaches at West Bay, Lyme Regis and Weymouth. There are also opportunities for fly-fishing and sailing on the local reservoir. The land lovers can find plenty of activities to occupy themselves, including exploring beautiful Sherborne, the many National Trust properties in the area, Sparkford Motor Museum, the Fleet Air Arm museum, the Hauser and Wirth art gallery in Bruton and Longleat safari park, and much more. Day trips include Bath, Wells, Cheddar Gorge and Salisbury. Over the school holidays we are pleased to accept week long bookings commencing on a Friday. Other things to note Willow Tree Barn is located within the village of Bradford Abbas, just outside the historic town of Sherborne. This, home from home, two bedroom cottage offers sleeping for up to 4 guests. Outside there is garden with a lawn, pond, paved patio area and good sized table, chairs and BBQ. There is off road parking on the gravel driveway and a few steps down to the front door. THE LIVING AREA The spacious, double height living room also provides a seated dining area. French doors open out onto the garden. Free wi-fi and smart television with Netflix are also provided. THE KITCHEN Well equipped kitchen/dining area with fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, Tassimo coffee/drinks machine, induction hob, electric oven. Also has doors that open onto the paved garden area. UTILITY ROOM. The utility room is perfect for storing coats and shoes. And contains a Bosch washing machine, iron and ironing board and bread machine. BATHROOM The downstairs family bathroom features separate shower, bath, toilet and sink. Fresh towels are provided. BEDROOM 1- first floor A cosy double bedroom with a velux windows make this a pretty hideaway room. BEDROOM 2- ground floor Large twin bedroom with 2 single beds. Mezzanine level for reading or playing. (The stairs are steep and children should be supervised when ascending or descending.) GARDEN With access from the living room and the kitchen, the raised garden includes a paved terrace, garden furniture and a lawn area. Perfect for al fresco dining! Please help yourself to rhubarb in season!! There is also a raised pond complete with goldfish.
