An ideal escape, our Studio is a private, self-catering garden unit located on the mountainside on a 300 Ha farm , with a pool (shared), & beaches closeby (15 min). Off the Grid - own power supply & fresh spring water extracted high in the mountains. Panoramic views over sea and mountain landscapes , surrounded by fynbos and wild birdlife , close to Capetown (55 km), airport, (40km) shopping amenities (7km) . Unwind after a busy day and relax at your private boma or around the pool. The space The space is ideal for an a couple or single guest looking for comfortable accommodation in a retreat type setting and awaken to birdsong . The Studio garden wing forms part of the Architect (owners) home, having been adapted specifically for this style of accommodation , informed by our own Air b n B experiences in Europe & Africa. The Studio is bright, sunny, and private and has independent access ( stairs are problematic for wheelchair access.), secure parking is close by and there access to a beautiful pool & deck (shared), and private sunset boma. The spaces are contemporary styled using carefully selected designer furnishings and original artworks, the compact space 46m² and can comfortably accommodate 2 adults +infant (under 2) or a single traveller. The Studio comprises:- • Bedroom with comfortable queen size bed (extra length) with quality linen, and a very quiet ceiling fan. • Lounge with comfortable couch, small table and chairs for dining and large screen smart TV (Netflix and Wi-Fi Internet) - a Bose Bluetooth music system. • Kitchenette well equipped with full complement of appliances (2 plate gas cooker, combi convection /microwave oven, undercounter refrigerator , sink, nespresso machine etc) • Bathroom with basin, wc, full bath /shower (overhead rainbird type) with shower screen. • Shared open pool and sundeck, the open pool is a safety issue for children over 2. • Outdoor private covered patio in a garden setting with seating and Weber barbeque for alfresco dining. • Private sunset boma with seating and fire place feature and braai (firewood is provided) , accessed 35m from the Studio. We are animal lovers and have a a friendly , inquisitive Burmese cat (Demus) and chocolate Labrador (Mia) both may visit you, chase them off if they bother you. Guest access The Studio, Patio and Boma are a private wing of the house , for exclusive use of Guests, the swimming pool is shared by the main house . (We are a couple with adult children ) Laundry facilities are available by arrangement for long- stay & transit guests. Guests can enjoy safe walks around the 300Ha Estate , 5 Ha recreational dam a on designated paths The Studio is on our 6500m²site , one of 75 properties on the 300Ha Estate (a working wine farm) , guests are required to abide by Houserules and respect the privacy of other Estate properties. Guest access to the Estate is via a 24 hr manned security gate control , access arrangements will be confirmed beforehand by entry/exit code via the Air B N B site . Other things to note WATER Mountain spring water is treated and tested regularly and is perfectly drinkable sourced by the Estate from independent borehole sources high up in the Sir Lowry’s Pass mountain headwaters we treat this important resource with respect but usage is not restricted. Hot water is Solar/heatpump heated , optimal heat in evenings ELECTRICITY Our property is 98% off grid and self sufficient with a PV installation and generator backup. SECURITY the entire Estate perimeter has state of the art security camera monitoring 24/7 supported by night patrols, ensuring a safe environment for all residents & guests, nevertheless it is recommended that guests keep valuables out of sight , lock cars and the accommodation when not occupied. OPEN FIRES Open Fires must only be used in the Boma and Patio on days /evenings with low/no wind and special care must be taken to extinguish the fire with the hose provided after use (We are in a high fire risk area , particularly the hot summer months of Dec – March)
