Kiwarrak Country Retreat provides stylish, self-contained cottage accommodation near Old Bar Beach on the stunning Barrington Coast, NSW. Set on 10 picturesque acres, the Retreat is surrounded by beautifully established gardens and lawns with a backdrop of tall Australian gums, tucked between Kiwarrak State Forest and Khappinghat National Park. This idyllic bushland setting is conveniently less than 10 minutes from gorgeous beaches, great cafes, and access to the double delta Manning River. The space The enchanting Bower cottage is just for the two of you, ideal for a romantic getaway, honeymoon or peaceful holiday. It overlooks the lake and is surrounded by gardens, creating your own personal retreat. With tasteful decor and all the conveniences of modern living, The Bower offers everything you need to relax and take in the natural surroundings. In winter, enjoy a cosy night in front of the wood burning fireplace with a glass of red, and select a vinyl to play from our eclectic collection, or bring your own! Your private outdoor heated spa awaits on the patio. Gaze at the stars or out to the lillies on the dam and listen to the birds, or take a book and just relax... Take advantage of the patio area that surrounds your cottage overlooking the gardens, where you may spy our resident Bower bird busy at work on his nest. Enjoy a good night's sleep in our comfy ecosa queen bed, with its plush memory foam topper and quality linen. Soak in your full size bath with our own Kiwarrak organic lavendar sugar scrub. We also provide our own aromatherapy shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Stroll up to reception to choose some DVD's , but be sure to take the scenic route so you don't miss any of the quirky and magical things to discover in our sprawling gardens. You may come across our resident Indian running ducks who like to waddle between the 4 dams! In the morning, enjoy your breakfast welcome hamper out on the patio, where you can sample our homemade sourdough and delicious muesli, along with freshy ground coffee, local honey and jam. If you'd rather a cooked brekky, you can add our BBQ breakfast hamper to your booking, with our own chook eggs (or duck if you'd prefer!) as well as locally cured bacon, homemade tomato jam, large field mushrooms and fresh tomatoes. With a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor BBQ, you can cook up a storm, adding flavours from your own little herb garden flourishing on the patio. You can also take advantage of the seasonal produce from our Kiwarrak kitchen garden. Meg would be happy to show you what's on offer. Or if you don't feel like planning your meal, take advantage of one of our scrummy gourmet dinner hampers with locally sourced and homemade products which can be arranged to be in your cottage to cook at your convenience. Alternatively, dine out at some of the great local restaurants and cafes in Old Bar or Wallabi Point, only ten minutes drive away. Our portable air conditioner (provided in the warmer months, or on request), ceiling and pedestal fans keep you cool in summer, while there is nothing better than the wood fire for cold winter nights. Your woodbox is kept stocked up just outside the door during the colder months for your convenience. Other things to note Please note that we have a minimum two night stay on weekends.
