Casa Osmeña and Nudibranchdivers - The Dragon Room
Description
Casa Osmena is a private home and home to Nudibranch Divers. One of the most beautiful homes in Culion, Casa Osmena, provides guest accommodation in well-proportioned rooms and a genuine community spirit that is increasingly becoming hard to find. For those who want to experience raw adventure, Casa Osmena can provide island hopping to stunning beaches, tours exploring Culion's fishing villages, countryside, and historic allure with diving and snorkeling to otherworldly underwater seascapes. The space We are right on the water's edge - beautiful sunrises and chilled evenings on the terrace. The Dragon room has envious sea views with a window seat that overlooks the sea view. Culion is steeped in fascinating history, from indigenous tribes and leading Spanish settlement to its selection as a segregation colony for lepers. The town has many historic buildings which are listed on the UNESCO Memory of the World register. There are remnants of two Spanish forts, one of which became the foundation for the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the other lost to the jungle. Take a leisurely walk around the town, visit the museum and archives or try and find the Spanish fort in San Pedro. Island hopping trips are a great way to experience Culion and its many islands, the mangrove forests, reefs, bays and beaches. Hire the MV Nudibranch and have lunch on a beautiful white sandy beach, go snorkelling or visit the lakes and lagoons on Coron Island. Travelling round Culion Island can be challenging and is always a great adventure, most of the byways are tracks and pathways, hire motorbikes or the jeep and discover the rice fields, fishing villages and hidden beaches. We would recommend to take a guide to show you the way and keep safe. Diving in the Philippines is considered amongst the best in the world. The wrecks in Coron Bay are world famous in the diving community but the reefs around Culion remain largely unexplored. If you want to stay relatively close but want to mix up lounging on the terrace, lazy lunches and snoozing in the hammock with a little exercise there are great mountain bike trails, hiking and kayaking or we can always take you fishing. Guest access Guests have access to all areas of the house apart from private bedrooms and the office. During your stay We like to welcome guests to be part of our home for their stay and often provide home cooked lunches or dinner on the terrace. We enjoy sharing our knowledge of the island, helping to plan trips, island hoping or diving whilst chatting over breakfast or dinner. Your welfare and safety as well as ensuring you enjoy your stay are our top priorities. Other things to note We can provide delicious home cooked lunches for your trips and dinner on the terrace so that you can relax in the evening. We have two young children, Sophie and Sam, a dog called Fishball Dave and a cat called Biscuit.
