Wonderful guesthouse with sea view on Tranholmen

Enjoy the best of two worlds - stay in your own lovely little house by the sea on Stockholm's closest archipelago island, Tranholmen, only 20 min away from the city center. Everyone loves our wonderful and charming guesthouse as well as the tranquil surroundings. You get to Tranholmen by ferry from Ropsten, that is only 5 min by metro from the city. The ferry takes 10 min and there are departures in both directions every 1-2 hours from early morning to late evening. The space The possibility to combine exploration of Stockholm city with a tranquil archipelago experience is truly unique about Tranholmen. If you are a bit adventurous you will love it! Our house is one of the original buildings on the island from 1911 - the Gardener’s Villa. The guesthouse is beside the main house and has its own entrance and a private garden with a large old oak tree and lovely sea view. Guest access As our guest you will have your own small 30 sqm house with all you need for a comfortable relaxing stay. There is a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, induction stove, oven, micro oven and dishwasher, and a small bathroom with shower and washing machine. Outside you have your own little patio with garden table, bbq and lounge sitting area under roof with infra-heating, hammocks and open-air shower - all overlooking the sea. If you have children they are welcome to play in our large garden. The guest house is one big open studio-style room and has two queen size beds (140 cm), of which one is a loft bed, and one single bed (90 cm). The guesthouse is ideal for two people but can fit up to four people. The house has its own entrance and private small garden. You get to Tranholmen by ferry all year round from Ropsten. It depart every 1-2 hours in both directions from early morning to late evening. The ferry departs 100 meters from our house on the north side of the island (see map in photos), and in Ropsten from below the Lidingö bridge. In the winter (1 Nov - 15 April) there is also a walking bridge from Svanholmsparken in Stocksund, with a 10 min walk to our house. An Uber is about 200 SEK from the city to Svanholmsparken. In the summer there are rowing boats available to get across the small sound from Svanholmsparken. Other things to note You need to bring your own food as there is no grocery store on the island. When coming from Stockholm city center there are good grocery stores right by the metro stations in T-Centralen, Östermalmstorg and Karlaplan, where it is easy to shop before heading home to Tranholmen. Bed sheets and towels are included. Some Friday evenings a master chef living on Tranholmen opens his home as a restaurant. Search for "davidathome". You need to book well in advance. Some Friday evenings during the summer season there is a community pub in Logen (an old barn), and in the summer Logen is open one hour in the afternoon selling ice cream. You can borrow tennis rackets if you wish to use the tennis court, and you are welcome to borrow our key if you wish to use the community sauna.
