Cabin in Shropshire

The Shell House is a cosy garden summer house set its own space next to beautiful private gardens with southerly views from the deck ( main house 30m away). Located in Shropshire's green and rolling countryside, the Shell House provides the perfect place to relax and unwind; guests can stroll around the gardens, play tennis or just enjoy exploring the surrounding countryside. The interior has been decorated with Jersey shell panels and a tented ceiling from Mumbai with oak floors. The space The Shell House tries to work with nature and it's tranquil surroundings; it has fast wifi (but no TV); it has electricity and hot water (but relies on Solar PV for both) and the WC uses compost ( but you wouldn't know the difference). Over the double bed is a skylight for stargazers ( with a blind); owls hoot at night and you can lie in bed and enjoy dawn chorus. The kitchen is fully fitted (fridge, microwave, double hob, toaster and kettle) and we supply tea, coffee and sugar for your arrival. Guest access Apart from the interior of the Shell House, guests have their own south facing deck, two areas of secluded lawn - all exclusive to them. Beyond that there are shared grounds and facilities such as the tennis court, croquet lawn, lakes with boats and 35 acres of gardens and grounds including fields and woodland. Other things to note Guests should please be aware that the Shell House has the very latest composting WC from Sweden which doesn't flush and works better if paper is placed in a container. It should be odorless, quiet and natural but different. Guests dont have a problem using it but one or two have suggested that we make sure that prospective guests are aware. if you would prefer to use conventional loos, there are two available for your sole use in the barn about 30m away. Also, please let us know in advance if you are not comfortable with the sometimes noisy attention of big dogs. We have two ridgebacks and a spaniel who are used to visitors but can be over-interested and noisy so tell us if you are not keen on this.
